Here is starting my sketchbook fresh, this time I wont do any digital artwork at all until I feel my traditional skills are prepared for it. Here are some of my latest drawings, not in any particular order. To see the full size simply click on the image.

YOUR TRADITIONAL SKILLS ARE FUCKING READY AS HELL.
Your art is of the few I don't feel like I can cnc. It's too damn perfect. When you said until I make sure my traditional skills are ready, I expected some noob.

This is really nice work. your shading is superb. Your second drawing needs a bit of work on the animal in front. It looks a bit too 2D in my opinion. It almost seems awkward. The coloring in the background doesn't look to good as well. Besides that it is amazing just like the rest of your art. Can't wait to see more!

Did you use just regular colored pencils for these?

Wow, those are fantastic! Though I like them all (almost) equally, I'm most attracted by the swan. Well done, post more if you have any.

I say your skills are ready for digital art, these pieces are awesome exept the second. I think it doesen't match to the skill of your other work (it just looks too 2d). I especially like the anatomy practice and the swan (i think it it is a goose btw)

Well I use Faber-Castell colored pencils, but they are the standard brand you buy in walmart or someplace...mexico is very limited in its available art products. Also, yeah the main problem there is that I am just not too skilled with colored pencil, but also the fact that I didnt draw the tiger in perspective as I should have. I was more concerned with design and linework and didnt focus on the lighting and form.

So what is it about the swan? Im guessing its the contrast? I will be having more in the next few weeks, as I learn more about perspective and feel confident enough to work back into figure drawing...also I would have more to post if I was sure I was allowed to post nude drawings, I have quite a few of those lol.

Is it a goose? I didnt really pay attention hahaha. Also, the main reason im not ready for digital art is that I want to have a solid foundational background to make my art truly exceptional. I dont know enough about perspective, lighting (form), composition, anatomy, etc. to really feel comfortable with a digital format. Most of my digital work up until now I feel like it has been a cheat to my learning, I feel that the simplicity of drawing on sketch paper or using paints helps to further myself as an artist far more.

I do wish I could finish the landscape, I just have no chance to, I did that sketch from life and I just dont have the time to go sit down on the same spot, wait for the right lighting, and color it.

[/spoiler]

will post more as I create it.

I just saw the "cool pose" one from before is in the bottom-right corner of the nudes. o: Anyway, that's some pretty good shiz you got there. Except for el tigre, it just sticks out, or, is it just fat?

well the thing is that the jacket covers the entirety of her neck up in the portrait, the only visible neck was a slight sliver of shaded skin, and that was almost not visible. Again the whole picture become uninteresting after I finished the linework, thats all there was to the picture really.

the secret to shading is to focus on the shapes and form, gotta know the dimensions of your subject. Who is xero, I only know zero haha
