What about turtle? Get castle archer and miners, keep defending, get the better eco by not using much of an army, then attack at 5 minutes or so with a spearton archidonis maxed formation?

Quote from Maxchiang .*Center is the most important part of a small map within the first minute or two of the game. Whoever controls it has the higher chance of winning.
The next important thing is range; do you out-range your opponent (Archer, castle archer)?
Then, its tank force; can you protect your ranged units?
Finally is economy.
Actually economy comes after meat shields I'm talking about the 1st minute of the game. So if u use my strategy, you have 2 swords 3 miners, then the swords defend for a few seconds before your archer comes out and kites foward the archer shooting your sword, and they have 2 swords 1 archer now. Get another sword, and with your extra 1 miner your most probaly training another archer by this time.

Tower spawn. Mages. They poison all your miners. All died. They can attack even if u have miner wall. Turtle is the worst option against sword archer.

Yes, but you turtle to build a better economy. In theory, by the time he has a magikill and tower spwawn, you'd be able to get something else, something better.

But in practice, u overbuilt your miners, wasted the gold on castle archer and miner wall, and worst of all, they have sheild wall and are constantly pressuring you.

Your point is duly noted; however, a turtler can get a spearton by his or her 12th miner without stopping the miner production queue.
This usually happens not long after 2 minutes.
While one spearton isn't enough to stop an army on its own, it is enough to stall enemy troops until the castle archer does some serious damage.
Maybe its just because I'm fighting noobs, but I am usuallyable to keep my turtle intact for the first 3 minutes with just a spearton or two and a level 1 castle archer.

This is assuming that you know how to micro. People under 2k generally dont have that skill yet; they cant forward kite with 2nd archer. This was meant for people under 2.1k. You're way over that limit.
Wyrmspawn, the only notable turtles in SE are Fattygoat and Damselfly in order, and in chaos, Herrown's Medusa turtle/mass.
They have spent a considerable time learning how to turtle, and are the only one I would RECOMMEND Turtling for a start. Unless ur Fatty (insert Animal) or Damselfly, don't do it.

Well, turtling has given me more wins than the conventional start thus far, so I'm sticking with turtle for now.

I was about to come into this thread and slap a hoe until I realized what this thread really was. I usually don't attempt the sword arch start myself because I end up losing no matter what target I choose I simply build swords and harass the opponents archidon even if I don't kill it it may buy time. For me I guess. Just tends to be the case.

Once you have played +200 games and analyze your losses, you will come to conclusion that there are certain techniques that must be done with the archer to ensure a +80% win probability.
One of these techniques is "Don't blind rush the opponent's archer; the chances of you killing it is 1 in 10 at most. No matter HOW low the health is, do not risk it."
Of course. if you are +2.1k, you could risk it. But, the chances for any rookie (anyone under 2.1k) killing the archer isn't that high,

If anybody thinks that somebody cannot pull something off is wrong. Especially in this case, I can pull off whatever I want in a game, and so can they, if they just know how, genius doesn't just have levels, it has multiple terrains. So you're good with sword-archer, maybe other people are better with another start. Don't stop people just because the're inexperienced, stop them if it's not right for them.

^Coming from someone <1200, I don't think that is a sound opinion. On Castle, there is only 1 opening; Archer Sword.

not really, I can do a good job on castle without that, just saying, and now I'm above that. (for now) but seriously, if you just know how, you can pull off just about anything.
and just because you havn't reviewed your strats doesn't mean that you're not good, just the opposite actually. You should never fight the war you just fought.
