http://www.stickpageportal.com/movies/kingdom-hearts:-heart-of-battle.html Or link in sig. [The rick roll was removed]
It got 7th, but was not put on the front page of stick page. I got ZuLu's ok to post it, so no worries there.
Enjoy, and for the upteenth time, its not epic, and its not like normal stick animations, enjoy, and give me pointers on what I need to work on. I already know that the sticks were wobbly and I'm working on that, If I had more time with my entry I would've been able to fix it. I also would've added sounds and voices if I had time, but I didn't have enough time to do either...
PLEASE DO NOT NOT POST HERE SAYING "This got 7th?! Mine was better than this!!!" I didn't do the judging, take it up with ZuLu in pms if you're pissed about it. I don't want this thread full of people angry that this placed while other's didn't.
TLDR: Tacos Rule!

To tell you the truth, Some parts were really long and boring. I'd like it a little better if you'd put sounds in it. I know it may not seem like alot, but It is. I liked it, and the storyline was awsome aswell. Great overall.

i agree to checkers lots of parts here were long and it has lots of stops which makes it boring, and the sticks were also wobly..
but i liked the story of the animation, but the thing is you werent able to project the action because most parts were long, and there were way too many pauses

The pauses were sort of intentional to add length to the animation [according to the contest rules, it had to be no less than 3 minutes long]. Rest assured the pauses will not be as long, and there will be no more lengthy bits in my future animations [unless a contest/collab calls for lengthy bits]. Also I would've added sounds if I had the time, but I ran into errors when I tried to start and I had to give up on it or else risk not finishing at all. If I was given another week I would've added sounds and voices.
What about animation wise? What can I improve on there?

Im sorry to say man.
But I hated it.
Why?
Well, all of the issues.
The animation was shacky, wobbly and unsmooth,
Bodies were out of proportion,
The gradients you used looked bad,
Joints on the sticks would stick out,
And the audio quality wasn't too good.
Sorry man, I didn't like it at all.
:c

RARGH.
Why is Axel the evil guy?
>=[
Most of it was animated very bad but I thought that some parts were animated very good. You really need to work on making your animations look more realistic, for examp[le the way they ran was terrible unrealistic.
Congrats on finishing a long animation.

where do you find these contests? the animation was really shaky on the pink person and i like the idea of having better art then animation but it got to boring IMO.

hey RC i thought this was alright you know. i mean, definately not epic or anything...and theres TONS of stuff that needs work, im probably just going to repeat some stuff that others have said but alot did seem long and drawn out (even though i get that it was intentional). i thought the fights with the heartless were not very good, those big heartless guys were too stiff and didnt really attack at all. all the stuff apples said is true too. alot of movements were pretty bad and very wobbly...the list does go on but theyre the main things.
but it is an achievement to make a 3 minute animation. and im sure youve gained some sort of improvement in the process.
the decent parts i thought were that the effects weren't actually too bad, like that guy who through the fireballs in the air, they were not exactly good fireballs, but they did the job and you could tell what they were (unless they weren't fireballs :-/). and the story part of it wasnt half bad either.
the best part of the whole animation though, and the only bit that afterwards i though 'hey, that isnt half bad' was that short fight between the main guy with his friend vs that guy with the 2 circular spiked things if you get which bit im talking about. it only lasted about 10 seconds, and it wouldve been nice to see it go on a bit longer, but that bit was the best part of the whole thing for me.
well done on getting $100 anyway, its more than most people here have made from animation :p..hopefully one day ill get more than that from sp though >_>.
and yeah your right the animation definately wasnt epic...it had the cinematic feel but it wasnt epic. but i can tell alot of effort went into it and even though its not that good i think its probably helped you improve. and on the whole, i dont think the animation isnt actually too bad.

The animation was shacky, wobbly and unsmooth,
Yeah, I knew that, and if I was given more time In would've smoothed it out, when I animate, I go over it once and animate it, then I go over and smooth it out. I didn't have time to smooth it out >_>
Bodies were out of proportion,
Yeah, I see what you mean in some places, but some of it is intentional to look like hes moving towards/away from the camera...
The gradients you used looked bad,
Could you be more specific? I didn't use many gradients, mainly on the keyblades... >_>
Joints on the sticks would stick out,
Lol, yeah that comes from not smoothing it out >_>
And the audio quality wasn't too good.
I had to keep the file size down, thats not entirely my fault. It was the highest quality I could get while still under 4 meg.
Sorry man, I didn't like it at all.
:c
Bold get.

yeah, I only had so many ideas and I had to stretch them into 3 minutes, you won't see that in future anims.

ZuLu posts an announcement that shows up on all the forum sections announcing another contest, then the contest is stickied in community projects section.

Yeah, I know about the wobbliness which I could've fixed given more time. And the lengthiness of the animation made it boring, if I couldve made a 1 minute animation, it would've been much better I think.
I know Darkside doesn't move much [Darkside is the name of the Giant Heartless] But he doesn't in the game either, he doesn't even walk in the game. He just sits there and pulls those orbs out of the ground and sticks them in the heart shaped hole in his belly. I suppose I should've made him move more, I should've broken away from keeping it true to the game just a little... >_>
but it is an achievement to make a 3 minute animation. and im sure youve gained some sort of improvement in the process.
Hell yes.

Yay my effects are getting better! I've never been good at effects so its good to know that I'm heading in the right direction. I didn't think the fireballs were good at all... >_>

You mean at the end where Sora [main character] and Riku [the silver hair guy with the blind fold who shows up at the end] fight Axel [the guy with the ring weapons]? That one was fun to animate, but its a shame I had to start rushing when I got to that point, otherwise the fight would've been about 30 seconds to a minute long... >_>
well done on getting $100 anyway, its more than most people here have made from animation :p..hopefully one day ill get more than that from sp though >_>.
Thats true, I never thought of it that way... >_>

ayayayayayaayayayayaya ^_^
Bold.
EDIT: I think most of the problems that people have pointed out, such as the wobbliness and the boringness comes form the animation length. Next time I make a big project it will be different.
