i can't just take your word for it, you'll have to justify why these are the best parts parts
tbh i'm being a lazyass, i just found a few nice builds on PCpartpicker, and used those.
here's a build i'd recommend, and i'll justify it for you. click each picture for a direct link to each product.
Case:
NZXT Phantom 410 ($100)
Comes in Red/White/Black, plenty of space, great for cable management, comes with three pre-mounted fans, and plenty of room for more. More specs about the case if you follow the link.
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz ($340.00)

Intel's 4th Gen of CPU's is named Haswell, which doesn't fall too far from Ivy Bridge, other than it is much more efficient. As an i7, it has hyper-threading, which is great for using digital-editing tools, such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Sony Vegas, what the fuck else ever. As a K series processor, it is also unlocked, which means, OVER-CLOCKING BOYEE YEAH MOTHER FUCKER. More info if you follow the link. Also, it's good for gaming.
MOBO: Asus Maximus VI Hero ($220.00)

Quality build MOBO from Asus, actually, I think it's in a bundle deal with the i7 4770k atm, so if you plan on buying, you may wanna do it real soon. Z87 board, built for Haswell of course, the LGA 1150 socket. Features would be:
ASUS DUAL INTELLIGENT PROCESSORS 4 WITH FOUR-WAY OPTIMIZATION, EXTREME ENGINE DIGI+ III, ROG RAMDISK, ASUS EXCLUSIVE USB 3.0 BOOST, ASUS USB BIOS FLASHBACK, then of course, HDMI, and premium sound-chip, yada yada. Good board, fair price, it'll do what you need it to. Much more in-depth specs following the link.
***To be completely honest, I've heard a lot of mixed reviews over Asus. While the board is good, I've heard of issues with the drivers for Asus, and the BIOS on Asus boards is a bit difficult to deal with. While it's not a major set-back, if you don't feel like dealing with it, you could also shoot for MSI or Gigabyte for your board, I don't hear too many bad things about them. If you're into features, you could shoot my way, and hit up ASRock. I use their Z87 Extreme4, but their Z87 Extreme6 board could easily fit into your budget, and might be right up your alley.
RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB - (4 x 4) - ($240.00)

Not only does this shit look pretty, it's pretty expensive too. Corsair's Dominator RAM was designed to be Haswell ready, which means, LESS POWER CONSUMPTION. On top of that, they have a special design to draw a lot of heat away from them. Now, you may think, "16gb? Jesus fuck, for what?" An i7 4770k's hyper-threading technology, paired with 16gb of 2133mhz speed of ram, while also not having to worry about dual-channel function, or anything of that nature, will be a fucking power-house, and I don't mean for gaming. Anything/everything will just run fucking smooth on dat shit, cuh. If you don't want to shell out $240 for 16gb of RAM, you could just settle for the Ripjaws X Series from G.SKILL, I've used/use it, and it's pretty beast.
Storage: Western Digital WD Black ($160.00) & Kingston HyperX 3K ($100.00)

WD Black sports a 64mb cache, running at 7200RPM, and up to date with SATA 6. On top of that, a whopping 2tb of space to fuck around with. The SSD is SATA 3, but that's okay, you won't be using it for storage much. It'll just be there to hold the OS, and any other important documents you want, just in case your HDD shits out. If push comes to shove, you could invest into a RAID 10 Array, and be square from there. MOVING ON.
GPU: GeForce GTX 760 4GB ($315.00
)

GTX 760 is a pretty decent card that should have no issues running any of the latest games, especially since it's clocked with 4gb of GDDR5. Shouldn't have to worry about the rest of your build bottlenecking it either, seeing as how the rest will be badass. If you want to aim for a cheaper alternative, hit up the AMD side of cards, specifically the
Radeon 7950.
PSU: CORSAIR HX Series HX850 850W ($150.00)

Rule of thumb is to always go with a larger power supply than what you need, not by a fuckload though. Why? Lasts longer, from what I've read. Also gives you room further on down the road if you plan on running SLI or Crossfire, or even adding more shit to your build. This is 4th Gen ready, so expect to see significantly less power use, it's also 80 plus Gold Certified, so expect to see it running much more efficient than other power supplies. On top of that, it's fucking modular, CABLE MANAGEMENT MADE EASY, MOTHER FUCKER.
Monitor: Acer H236HLbid Black 23" 5ms ($160.00)
I use this, think it's fucking gorgeous. Go with whatever monitor you please, just make sure it has a nice refresh rate, and some decent reviews. HDMI would also be pretty nice.
-------------------------------------------
rest of the shit is up to you. CPU cooler, case fans, thermal compound, disk-drive, the fuck else ever, your call.
total:
$1785 (roughly)
leaves you a bit of ching left over for other shit, like the shit I listed that was up to you. though, i'd highly suggest investing into a very nice after-market CPU cooler, or even a water-cooler, since the i7 is known to get a bit warm. stock CPU coolers suck ass.
Build Review:
Fucking excellent, everything works and flows together coherently, nothing is bottlenecked, and as a 4th Gen PC, you're up to par with the latest shit, and using an LGA1150 socket, plus a Z87 MOBO, leaves you plenty of room in the future for expansion or progression, if you choose to do so. Have any other questions, just ask, breh.
AMD FX 4100 Quad Core 3.60 GHz Processor,
32 GB DDR3 RAM (overkilllllll),
AMD Radeon HD 7750 graphics card,
a Western Digital 2tb HDD,
and a TR2 RX 850W PSU.
Also, jesus fuck, 32GB of RAM? damn, son.
