Well to be fair, they have a huge amount of developers and scripters ect to pay plus losses on pirates to make up for. They could shave a bit off but its a professional program and is designed and priced for experts or companies.

Do you have any idea how much money and work it takes to make a program of that quality?
You pay alot, but you pay for the best.

Well the people who make it need wages but I agree that it is overpriced for what it does/is supposed to do, new version should really be hitting 300 - 500 dollers unless it is something like a complete overhaul of the engine, AS ect. Look at maya though; http://store.autodesk.com/DRHM/servlet/ControllerServlet?Action=DisplayProductDetailsPage&SiteID=adsk&Locale=en_US&ThemeID=516200&Env=BASE&productID=81677700 It is the unlimited version but still. Flash is expensive but so are other softwares in the drawing/multimedia industry.

Someone doesn't understand economics...

Just say you're a student and get Macromedia Studio for £80.

I'd be more supportive of it if they made a "Lite" version for less.

Perhaps it would lessen the learning curve?

Im sure they had basic and pro at a time but only the pro version had a trial. A lite version would be nice, even if it was very basic and limited in scrpiting abilities ect. Like gamemaker.

as in "less tools and less action script?" maybe they could do that (for like $300) then the rest of the tools have to be bought for add ons. (same with action script)

Yeah but with a PS3 you can't make $$$ making something other people can enjoy (if your good anyway)

for example, Stuff on StickPage.com usually Zulu or Crazy Jay pays the creator to allow them to put the animation on there site before anyone else even see's it. I think Terkioz got like 100$ for Shock =l.
