Being the CoD4 player I am, having a good K/D ratio, win ratio, and having red tiger for just about every weapon I have, I decided to make a guide for members of SPP to see.
This is part 1 of my guide on CoD4 Multi player.
In this part, I will be talking about weapon to perk combinations.
So lets get going.
M16
Personally, my favorite weapon in the game, great for long range shooting and a good weapon if your the accuracy whore that I am.
For this weapon, I suggest you use the following perks.
Bandoleer
This is a great perk if you play long matches of sabotage like me and want to make sure you don't run out of ammo. You will be regretting not using this perk once you run out of ammo in the middle of a gunfight and you can't use your weapons.
Stopping power
Stopping power is my favorite perk in all of CoD4, considering it will give you that extra damage for each bullet you shoot.
This is also good for finishing off someone sooner, and can save bullets needed to kill someone, precious bullets saved for later.
Deep impact
Deep impact is amazing for shooting people camping through walls, or if you see someone using a wall for cover in showdown, just shoot through that damn thing. This perk makes it so the bullets aren't slowed down when shot through walls. I recommend this perk mainly for the maps of Showdown, Overgrown, Crash, and Vacant.
MSaw
The Msaw is a great weapon for heavy hitters, or people who like people like 'The Heavy' from games like Team Fortress 2.
Through, it does have a long reload time, this weapon makes up for it with its extreme bullet penetration and damage.
Frag x3
Probably most peoples default class for this slot, frag x3 is suggested for this weapon mainly due to the low speed you will have when sprinting with this weapon.
Frag x3 is effective in this way because you simply can't make it far sprinting with this weapon, so you can throw a long range frag where you see the enemy if you don't have the time to shoot them or your simply out of ammo.
Sleight of hand
This perk is most effective with this weapon due to the long reload time, this can be cut down to a second instead of the 5 or 6 seconds it takes to reload the weapon.
This is great because in the middle of a fight, reloading this weapon will mean utter death for you. But with sleight of hand, you will have a chance in taking the enemy down with your quick reloading.
Extreme conditioning
This perk allows you to run longer, and with a heavy weapon like the MSaw, you will only be able to run for about 3 or 4 seconds without this perk.
With this perk, you can run for an extra 3 or so seconds, which doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you need to run somewhere fast for cover, this is the perk you need.
Dragunov
My favorite sniping weapon personally, this is a great aiming and power weapon.
Within a simple 1 round, you can take out about 3 or 4 people with this weapon if you are an accurate person like me.
Claymore x2
This is a widely suggested perk for this weapon simply for your sniping points.
You think your going to survive unprotected behind your back while your sniping?
Think again.
This perk will give you a change against those enemies who come up on you behind your back to kill you.
Stopping power
Sure, some people use UAV jammer for sniping, but when your trying to take someone else out with your sniper, it may take 2 or 3 shots.
With stopping power, you can usually take people out with either 1 or 2 shots.
This is a great way to get those quick kills when you see someone get out of cover for a few seconds to shoot.
Deep impact
This is a great perk for those situations when someone is behind a wall taking cover from your shots, but unknown to them, your deep impact will see you through and get that kill against them.
W1200
Personally, Im not a big shotgun guy, but some people are.
So I'm going to do as much as I can for the W1200, though I don't use it too much.
Frag x3
Considering the shotgun is a close range weapon, the frag x3 will help extremely getting those long ranged kills you can't quite get with that close range shotgun of yours.
Stopping power
Sure, the shotgun is a powerful weapon at close range.
At close range you can usually get 1 shot kills, but what about medium range?
When your damage is cut in half, medium range requires the stopping power perk in order to get those ranged shots to actually do some damage to your enemy.
Steady aim
Lets look at it, no one should use the shotgun accurately.
No one should use the L1 button (consoles) to get those accurate shots on those enemies.
It will save you much time to simply use the shotgun without the L1 button at all.
So the steady aim perk should help you big time.
This will get your shots to be more spot on and have less possibility of missing firing from the hip.
MP5
The MP5 is a great weapon, usually what most people use at first.
It has good iron sight if you want to use the silencer, and its even better using red dot sight.
It has little recoil, and is good long range.
Special grenade x3
Sure, frag x3 is excellent for those long ranged, or close ranged kills.
Though, if your going to use the MP5 like it should be used (it even says its a special ops weapon), you should make the special grenade x3 the first slot perk.
Make sure its either a flash or a stun grenade though, smoke grenades are practically useless in my opinion.
This gives you a chance to stun or flash those people camping in those corners, or people shooting someone else on your team, so this will give you or your teammate a chance to get that kill on the enemy.
Stopping power
Lets admit it, the MP5 isn't exactly the most powerful weapon in the game.
Stopping power will allow this somewhat weak weapon to be quite good for those quick kills you need so dearly.
Last stand
Sure, not many people like this perk, considering people get cheap kills this way.
But when your owning with the MP5 and someone ruins your fun by killing you, you get out your side arm (I suggest a Deagle) and shoot the shit out of the person who thought they could mess with you.
Revenge, a dish best served cheap.
Conclusion
Well, I'll leave you guys with this one tip.
Don't ever, under any circumstance use the ACOG scope.
You may think its good for long range shots for non sniping weapons, but this weapon has shit accuracy.
And if you must use the thing, only use it for the range, don't use it and expect to get even 1 head shot or even more than 5 kills that match.
See you guys in part 2.
