When PewDiePie makes videos of him playing video games, he gets popular, but when I do it, I only get 10 views. Makes total sense. -_-

You too? I tried watching Tobuscus when he put out Terraria content since I was getting into the game, but I was getting sick and tired of all the accents and voices he kept on doing. It was as is he had some sort of multiple personality disorder lol.

Also I would prefer Markiplier or Robbaz over PewDiePie any day to be honest. PewDiePie just bothers me for some reason.

And yeah, Tobuscus is alright, but he's just plain annoying. Markiplier is way more funnier than PewDiePie and Tobuscus combined. Yamimash and SeaNanners make funny videos too. And the fanbases for Pewdiepie and Toby are as annoying as fuck.

And yeah, Tobuscus' accent bothers me a lot too.

Then again isn't Smosh ridiculously childish and immature too?

A pinch of no, and ton ass of yes powder. But they're still funny imo.

Also, I like the past Pewdie rather than today. Im still a bro, but I won't brag about him beng the most awesome youtuber ever. I already miss his good old homemade friends...Stephano, Piggeh...the screaming in Amnesia was worth it. He was a fun guy.

He used to be a decent enjoyable player and youtuber. But after hitting 2 million bros, he started to change. His main goal is to brighten up people's depressing feel, to make them laugh. Markiplier is also like pewdie, but he plays horror games most.

But still, Pewdie was born *to die* to make people laugh, and put aside all their sad experiences. I will still be a bro.

@Molly I agree with you.

YouTube likes the vids that people watch all the way through and people who constantly make videos and they like promote him and stuff. Let's play videos don't have any scripts and doesn't need that much editing, because the let's play videos only are like reactions of the gameplay and stuff. He has so much subs because he's international and does the traveling thing. Also he speaks english. Whatever I'm bad at explaining things. It's just a theory though, a game theory...

I subscribed to him a long time ago for his Amnesia playthrough, but I got tired of the constant immature humor. Immaturity is fine, in small doses. When it's as abundant as he does it now, I just can't watch. Though I'm glad for what he's doing to the let's play community. Many of the most popular people would not be as popular without him, as he's a great introduction, but not a great commentator. Congrats to him.

My ten year old sister has a crush on PewDiePie. So I watched one of his videos. I don't get it. But hey, Pewds isn't for everyone.

Never really heard of nor cared about PewDiePie all I heard about him is that he screams alot

I like about 25% of what Tobuscus puts out because its pretty self aware, and he mainly uses his accents in lets plays, however, they aren't really that annoying

I liked Smosh around when Youtube first started cause they actually did real skits, but nowadays they can't compete with CorridorDigital and FreddieW
RoosterTeeth is my favorite currently cause of the Red Vs. Blue series and the Rage Quit series, the guy gets so angry its hilarious
Also they came out with a new 3d animated series called RWBY

Honestly though good for him, but Youtube's become more of a popularity contest rather than a quality content contest
P.S a friend of mine told me he was the gaming commentary version of fred which made me psedo avoid him, but as a game enthusiast/developer-to-be I like the idea of gaming commentaries being the most popular thing on youtube

I don't watch his videos, but I don't hold anything against the guy for getting to the top. I'm sure he didn't start out thinking that he was going to get to where he is now -- he just happened to hit a large audience and get lucky with his content.

I'm more interested with the whole concept of let's plays in general, and how long they'll continue to trend. Is this a fad that people will eventually get bored with, or are let's plays here to stay as a dominating form of entertainment?

IMO
Lets plays are not sustainable, they don't really require much of any video editing skill and are only as good as the person commentating is interesting. There will always be a Niche but until something better comes along Let's play's will remain popular

in my opinion if would just be himself i would like him more but honestly i don't think he really deserves top youtuber just because its pretty easy to just play games and post videos of them on YouTube and also when he played the last
of us he cut out alot of the game but his Fridays with pewdiepie are pretty entertaining
