I'm all for 'testing' the gun on one of the children unless the adult has something useful worth shotting him/her for.

I think you should do the same thing, but the next person posts what actually happens rather than a suggestion.

That was the original idea, but considering double posts, newbies, and people who post on extension to someone elses post while someone else has already continued the story, I believe this to be the best way.

Bob looks at the children, and pulls out his handgun, he moves along to the kids, and the adult looks intently at Bob, Bob hands the gun to the child, and the adult moves forward, looking to fight Bob. The child considers this to be a play gun, and shoots his sibling, who falls down dead, but before he see's this, he also shoots the adult moving towards square between the eyes, and cries as he see's them both dead.

Bob, being a ninja, kills the small child and reclaims his handgun, the old lady is hobbling towards him, and he shoots her in the heart.

Left now goes towards a dark neighborhood, decisively empty, and right now goes to a dead old lady and a happy neighborhood, who are all mainly asleep.
