Yeah bitch, just hit me right away.
But.....I really think this is needed soon.
Since the launch of Hyunsdojo, nothing much have been happening lately here on planet SP.
We really need some kind of event, og just small competitions, to gather again.
I know, the members here could just start a shitload of collabs, but it will only gather a small amount of people.
What do you guys think?
Stickpage needs events

Not many people are interested in this place at the moment, so an event right on the spot might not work.

I think one of the reasons that people are not interested is because there's no events.

The entries for previous competitions were awesome! I'd love to have some competitions around here. :D

If you have an idea for an event or competition, why don'y you just do it? If people really want to compete in competitions because there fun and not because of prize money, then there really isn't any reason why someone can't hold something unofficial. Isn't that what Hewitt's doing with the wRHG?
If this is something you want, then just do it. Build it and they will come.

Surprisingly, I was planning to reboot Friday Funk animation competitions coming next Friday. If it becomes very successful, I'm planning to also compile each of the Friday Funk animations for the month into one huge collaboration, sorta like those collaborative weeklies done for other sites. I've compiled three successful collabs in the past, so I know what it takes to do something like this.
I'm seriously looking forward to starting these. :)

Jelly's right. I'm not the only one doing something. Arch has also tried making waves in the anim attack section and its moderately successful.
Tsang you should just do it regardless of anything. It doesn't matter how many people join your shit, as long as there are people who play/participate. I don't see a reason why money or "officialness" has to be related to whatever it is you're hosting/joining. If anything, lesser number of participants guarantee an even better rate of successful entrants. So if you feel like you wanna make something, just do it.

I get where you're coming from, but I think it's just not the same. We shouldn't make ourselves want to be here, it should be the staff that makes us want to be here.

True, Staff have the privilege and the right to host events for the site, but they aren't obligated to. Turning a blind eye to the responsive and vocal portions of the community, then blaming it on the inability for mods to perform some kind of duty to host and entertain seems really inane.

I agree. Anyone can choose to host an event here. It doesn't matter at all whether you're a staff member or not. If people see your event as something enjoyable or original and exciting, they will participate, no matter who you are.
However, the background of the person hosting the event may differentiate the participant's choice to become a part of their event. For instance, if you have a reputation of starting collaborations in the past and discontinuing each one for whatever reason, that could prevent some people from partaking in your event, assuming that you will give up on managing this one.
Anyway, just finished up the new Friday Funk logo. I'm looking forward to when the whole thing's actually released! :D

The reason why people aren't hosting any tourneys is because they cannot afford money/anything as a reward. For example, Oxob managed to host bse because he has enough money. Stone too. And also people cannot think of a great event too, only RHG and those fighting shtuff. But Im not saying all people here can't.
In short terms, people here aren't ready or didn't just have it in their minds in hosting a tournament/event.
Other than that, let's think of an event. Hewy has one, but does your wrhg tourney have a price?
