this came up in the Pokemon X and Y thread i put up recently and then my interested was piqued a bit. which do you prefer: Digimon or Pokemon?

Still rooting for Pokemon though... That was the foundation of my life from 1999 (when I started reading small words and collecting cards) up to about 8th grade in I think mid-2011.

it's hard for me to choose as well. i've been watching Digimon for god knows how long and the same story for Pokemon, along with collecting cards, watching the show, and playing the game

I do think a thread similar to this already have been made. But I'm gonna vote at it anyways.

I never really watched Digimon or Pokemon, but I do remember I like pokemon more, cause it seems more...cool? At the time. Then again, I never watched any of em. Eh, I'm voting Pokemon.

Digimon is like a cheap rip-off of pokémon which isn't as fun and makes even less sense.

I believe I already said this in the last old poll of this thread: Digimon has better hentai. Digimon wins.

Pokémon could conceivably get better hentai without fundamentally changing itself, but making a good game/show from Digimon would require an entirely different unrecognisable concept.

I have good memories of both. Pokemon got.... weird after a few seasons, I rather Digimon honestly, it has a better plot IMO.

Digimon was always inherently better than Pokemon. The only reason Pokemon is considered better is because it has a successful game franchise. Digimon was a better show.

Noooo. The premise was silly. These monsters go around being weak and pathetic all the time and then they get in a fight so they go into Fight Mode, and then they're losing so they go into Bigger Fight Mode, and maybe they're still losing so they go even bigger. It's like, why didn't you go really big the first time? Why did you even bother becoming small again in the in-between-fights time? Can you just keep getting bigger indefinitely whenever it suits the story? If so, why are we not using you as an infinite source of clean energy? Bleargh.

Pokemon may not have the best TV show, but I watched much more as a kid than Digimon. Plus I loved Fire Red version.
