Now, to begin, I'll just say that I don't believe in god.
I don't want to make a thread about how god isn't real and stuff, even though that's what I'm about to say, but I'm interested why religious people believe in god. And not just: 'Because of the miracle's/ Because the bible says so/ Because I grew up with it'. I'd like real reasons.
I'll start with my top 3 reasons why I don't believe god is there.
1. This world, since humans were here.
I think that if god made humans to his own reflection, why would he make us so bad? Theft, war, murder, money-eating lawyers and poverty. Only 5 examples of our cruelness. This could still mean that there was a god, but that would mean that we shouldn't like him that much to give him religions.
2. His plan and hell.
Now, I understand that god has this plan. The almighty plan of the universe. Wich is in total conflict with free will, but yeah...
So, he has a plan. Then what does he need hell for? To punish people? Couldn't he just make everyone good in his plan? Isn't hell useless, if you have a plan? What happened to 'God loves everyone', anyway?
But, this still doesn't disprove that there is a god. It just makes him sadistic.
3. (My favorite, but I'll save the best for last) All religions.
So if there would be a loving god and he wanted to be praised, why would he make so many religions anyway? Wich mostly have the same basic thoughts, but still are soooo different from eachother? These differences (Did I spell it right, or should it be differenses?) make war and stuff like that, a good god wouldn't do something like that, would he?
But, of course this doesn't disprove that there is no god, but like the other ones, it proves that if there is a god, he isn't quite the god most people on earth thought he would be.
So, I'd like to here some pro-god thoughts on this.
And don't take this all as an insult, these are just my thoughts.
If you don't like it and find it insulting, say so.
Is god real?

This is the deabate section, come with actual arguments, not: 'god is real'..
Why is god real?
What could've only been done by god?

I looked at the search tool with keyword god, and i got no matches..
It's pretty obvious though, but i still wanted to say my thing.

Can god prevent evil?
If he can but is not willing, then he is sadistic
If he can and is willing, then whence cometh evil?
If he can't and is not willing, then why call him god?
And if he cant but is willing, then what use is he?

If he can and is willing, then whence cometh evil?
If he can't and is not willing, then why call him god?
And if he cant but is willing, then what use is he?

Totally right, but does 'whence cometh evil' mean?

Why is there evil, or where does evil come from then?

God gave Adam and Eve a simple rule to follow, not to eat fruit from the cursed tree, and they were swayed by temptation to eat the cursed fruit, this in turn set the pace for all of humanity, we are sinning creatures, we are not perfect, and we have free will. Gods plan is what he wants for us, weather we accept it or not is of our own free will. Also, there are historical records that Jesus, the son of god, was in fact a real person. So look at it like this, either Jesus was the biggest liar in history, or he's the son of god.

You do realise such documents can be faked?
Also, if god is omnipotent, he would know that they would take the fruit from the tree, knowingly damning us for eternity without a single glimpse of hope, making him a mean sadistic horrible bitch.

MoD, you said so yourself, this thread has been made numerous times. Don't play into his game by posting. let's just let this die.

Did you miss the whole thing where god claims he is the highest being and is omnipotent, and things like that?

Basically God is real if you believe in him.
If you don't then he doesn't exists for you.
HEAVEN and HELL is your imagination as well as God but we don't really know if he exists or not. Some people believe in him and pray to him, some don't.(Atheists.)
