Controllable units are good, but tower spawn gives you the opportunity to pressure hard and cave him in. You can attack, and when the tower spawn dies, kite out of there with your inevitable spearcher. Repeat a few times and you should be winning an attrition war with equal armies because you're using tower spawn.

Another thing you can do is have a battle which results in heavy losses for both sides with your tower spawn. When the tower spawn respawns, he has a lack of army to handle it and you can push hard.

Tower spawn is a great upgrade depending on situation - Classic OR DM.

yeah....tower spawn is very usefull (just like for scouting when you dont want to scout yourself XD) thing is: Dont rely to much on the ghost....also dont buy it too early, otherwise your army lags :/

no it doesn't even in log maps its useful because you don't need all dose mines, combined with passive income totally makes you rich!

Tower Spawn, as much as I question it, is necessary to the game and kinda forces players usually to get aggressive and speeds up the pace of the game.

As for how much you should fight over it; you should always. Like others have said; Map Control, possible economy halt, pressure, ghost. These are all reasons why you should fight for the middle tower. I cannot tell you how many games I've barely won because after the long haul battle a fully upgraded giant ghost spawns which leads to a rage-quit.

Err, that is very situational. You may not need that much if the game is on a short map or even med map.

Tower gives you more gold
More gold= better army
but more importantly, at least to me it is, Tower Spawn
It provides perfect cover mass for you to basically mass whatever the heck you want to, this will work as long as you dont encounter any mages, but if you pressure correctly this shouldnt be a problem, i usually mass archers, they have range to attack the statue and can therefore attack and retreat quicker, but most recently i have favored the massing of swords with rage www.stickempires.com/play?replay=replay3681005&version=1.81
When attacking with tower spawn one must always allow the ghost to get ahead of the rest of your army, especially with low health units
I would recommend archers or swords, archers for their range, swordwraths for their speed and of course rage will bring down the statue faster, and each are cheap and fast to load

That's not true, I go 10 miners on a short map everytime.

Just figured out that tower now gives 20 gold per 5 sec....dunno, but i think thats op

Tower is worth approximately 1.5 miners, along with the tons of other stuff why it's good.

Especially on short maps, sword/archer vs archer/miner revolves *all* around that tower. Sword/Archer gets a 3.5 miner economy vs an Archer/Miner 3 miner economy if they can retain that tower so they can really lay on pressure, but if they lose that tower or archer/miner isn't pressured enough then archer/miner will win because of a stronger economy.

The tower is what makes the difference in sword/archer vs archer/miner.
