When I animated I was rather sneaky. I would interchange between the two.

I use both, line for angles and smooth shit, brush for sketches and basic 2D anims.

Brush is easier for 2d combats and free angles, bad quality if using a track pad,Faster animating, creating perfect shapes harder than line.
Lines is hard for 2d combats but quite normal in angles,Uses in arts and such to make a perfect stick,Harder and slower animating,Can create nice shapes and lines in easier ways. Can create stop and go motion movements.

I use brush currently but when I animate something representative I'm using line because my brush were wobbly.

Brush : Perfect for 2d Fight and combos, have its own unique style, easier for angle, hard to draw , Took long time (except for tablet it will make it faster),look natural
Line : have smooth limbs, easy to draw, perfect for cinematic stuff and angle stuff, rigid, not have style(mostly)

Line and both to me are godamn the same, only that line tool makes stick figures much easier. But a bit confusing.

Both are subject to personal preference. Debating which is better is is futile.

There's a reason I like seeing you post.

How come the pencil tool never comes in these conversations, anyway?

Yeah... for about three months I had been animating with the pencil too and so did geo. But yeah... I do find that my animations look better with brush

Some people ten to classify the pencil tool under that of the line tool even though the two are completely different, lol.

As for me, I enjoy using both of these tools, even though they have their own pros and cons.

oh good, it's this thread again, I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing this discussion no matter how many times it's discussed around here.
