I am planning on entering a character in wRHG, but I have more than one idea and not sure which to choose. I will put "demos" for them here, writing the "demos" as if creating my character, but not for the sake of getting my character accepted - more as writing exercises to get a feel for the kind of character I want.
Feel free to comment.

Journal Entry 12/14/XX
Today is a very good day! I acquired three new toys, and it is still a long ways from Christmas! I can't wait to play with them! I wonder what games we'll play, we'll have so much fun together!
Journal Entry 12/13/XX
Aw, man! One of my toys broke already! I didn't even do much, but it won't do anything and it won't make noises any more! I can't find anything wrong with it though. I fixed it up perfectly, but it still won't work! I'll just have to figure out what to do with it tomorrow.
Journal Entry 12/14/XX
Well, it was unfixable. I had to throw it away. It took a couple of hours to do so, I could have been playing with my other toys. Speaking of which, I broke another toy. It made the funnest noises, but its arm stopped working. No problem. I can fix that easily, that's why I'm the Fixer! Yep! I just put my hands on it, and it started working again. But it was broke in a new way, as it started flailing like crazy. I liked the noises it made, but the arm could've hurt me! So I re-broke and re-fixed it, and everything was okay. But I'm thinking my other other toy is jealous. It keeps staring at me like it is mad at me for playing with a different toy. It will get its turn though.
Journal Entry 12/15/XX
I was right! It WAS jealous! As soon as I took it out of my toybox, it started to play with me instead of me playing with it! It's fist came at my head. How cute, it thought it could hit me while being that slow. I quickly dodge to the outside of the silly toy's punch, and hand-chop it in the back of the neck. Hand-chop is a thing, right? It wasn't a karate chop, because I don't know karate, and I chopped backwards with my hand, not the knife in my other hand, so...
Anyways. It made such angry noises! It was so energetic, it made me happy! In such a joyous move, I even forgave it for striking me in the back of my head when I wasn't looking! It tried again, but this time I ducked it. Ducking is a funny word. It's not like I made a quacking noise. Although IT made a quacking noise when I turned around and stabbed it in the belly. Silly toy, you aren't a duck! It started leaking red from its belly and its mouth. I noticed toys usually break really bad around this point, so I took out the knife, put it down, and put my hand on the wound. It tried to make more noises but couldn't. I then fixed it. The crack was gone, the red stopped, all was good.
Oops, I forgot my knife. The toy didn't. After getting hit in the head and belly, I jumped back and pulled the knife out of my arm. I must admit I said bad stuff that I'm not proud of before I fixed touched my owie and healed myself before too much blood came out. It looked a lot like the red that came out of my toys. For a minute, I was really worried. What if I was wrong all this time. What if...I was a toy too? But then I thought it wouldn't matter either way. I would still play with the toys, as the person who plays with toys or as another toy played with by the person who plays with toys.
Also, the toy was coming after me, so I didn't have time to worry. I focused my fixing on my head, and when it charged at me, I hit its head with my own. It hurt real bad, but the pain went away before the toy could recover. I knee it in the belly, then switch knees and knee it in the chin while bringing its head closer to my knee with my hands. I shove the toy away, and pick up my knife. That's when I had a great idea. What if I fix the toy with my knife already in it? I stab it in the belly and fix it. I then sweep its legs from under it, and spinny-throw it by the handle into my favorite play area. And that's when I had a better idea...
Journal Entry 12/16/XX
I love my new "pincushion" toy! It has all kinds of knife handles and stuff sticking out of to grip it, and I can push, pull, and twist them and the toy makes the greatest noises! I just got to remember to keep fixing it every few minutes. I wonder what I should do with my other toy? Maybe save it for my Christmas party?

That was The Fixer, a psychopath with healing powers. I am working on my next ones and will post them as I finish each.

Ah, I got halfway through when I realized that the Fixer was referring to victims as toys, and they weren't the kind of toys I was thinking of at all! Anyways, even if it is a jouranl, I have to say that I really dislike writing done in the 1st person. Personal preference, but I hope you stick around long enough for me to eventually convert you to the third-person way of writing. As a demo, it gave a fair bit of insight to the personality of the character, I thought. I rather adore his skewed perception of the world, and I wish you luck in your refinement process.
I do not, however, get any idea of just how skilled a fighter he is. I understand that he's apparently fast. I definitely disagree with writing in the present tense. A lot. Again, personal preference, but again, I hope you stay around long enough that I can convince you not to do that.
Also, however, is there any reason in particular that The Fixer can articulate his own thoughts (I'm assuming he a lot, here. Is The Fixer a boy or a girl?), but not understand the "noises" of others? Or is he aware of what those noises actually mean, and he's just willfully disregarding them and replacing them with his own statement of events?

Thank you for the critique, Strongest. I'll answer your questions for you.
I was trying to make it a bit ambiguous as to what his toys were at first, and then make it obvious. And yes, it is a "he". And you are right about the noises, his mind blocks out the fact that he knows what they are saying, and a lot of the noises that he likes AREN'T words - more like screams and sobs of pain.
I'm glad you liked the short story despite it being in first person. Personally, I believe that the first person journal was the only way to write this particular story, to get across his mindset. However, I can write the rest of his stories in third person. As for his combat skill, I guess I did write this as more of a character demo than a combat demo. I probably would write a new demo specifically for the combat instead of adding more fighting into this demo, but I would also keep this one as a character development thing. He uses healing powers and is pretty fast, and I was toying with the concept of "overhealing" to make him temporarily stronger or to do nasty things to an opponent, but I haven't sorted that out yet. Any more questions/comments/concerns/critiques?

I'm beginning to get the idea that the Fixer is somewhat amoral, that is without morality. Not even sure if I'm using the right words, but the idea is that he doesn't have an actual understanding of good or evil. Or it's another distinction he doesn't care for. His fighting style seems "neutral", that is neither distinctly honorable or dishonorable. It just seems very pragmatic (not saying it's a bad thing, I'm just stating my observation to see whether or not it lines up with your own understanding of The Fixer.) With that in mind, I think I like the overhealing ability, though I'm not sure I like it being applied to opponents (as, at the moment, I'm seeing overhealing as forming a kind of temporary armor to lessen the impact of an attack on a given area.)
Question: What fuels his healing powers? Is there a limit to the amount or degree that it can be used?
