what match? you never challenged me
Nov 11, 2013 6:09 AM #1105821
Ah. Then I
CHALLENGE YOU!
CHALLENGE YOU!
Nov 11, 2013 6:19 AM #1105826
challenge denied until you make your character less overpowered because no one can beat a teleporting, hardlight weapon summoning, super strengthened, matial artist in combat period. anytime someone shot at him or got close to him he cold teleport away and being able to teleport 67 times before the gauntlet turns off is just unfair for the opponent for your guy just has to wear the opponent out by teleporting far away and then with the last teleport appear infront of the opponent and stab them with a hardlight sword. so no battle!

For the record grenade's wrhg is not overpowered and does not need to change a thing. Grenade, if he doesnt want to then just move on.

The thing is, a wRHG is also very much based on your writing. So if you can write an epic battle where you beat the odds and Erik beats Zero, then there you go. Well done. He might seem overpowered in comparison to your guy, but there are many situations where your guy can win. Just write it and try. If you lose, you lose, you learn, you move on. That's what it's all about.

You know, by that argument, no one would be able to challenge my wRHG either...
As TheOrganization once pointed out to me, being OP actually doesn't work out too well most of the time in the wRHG world. The reason is, if you're over powered and you describe a win against an under powered character, well, that was expected. No plot twists there, no creative opportunities... et.c. If you were writing with an under powered character though, you get many more chances to be creative with how you win. By being able to envision a scenario where an underpowered guy beats an overpowered guy, you'd probably be remembered for creativity and voters will more likely vote for you.
So, in a way, it's under poweredness that is overpowered in the wRHG universe... if you get what I mean.
Quote from Hewittthe Undefeated One is just a marketing gimmick wyrmspawn has going for him. just fight anyone you want for different reasons
Aw, man, you saw through my trick.
Actually, I didn't aim to build for a gimmick around that quirk; I mainly needed a reasonable justification for making the most overpowered character in the wRHG universe (except for maybe the nuclear guy :p I do have a minor sense of decorum and propriety, after all).

Niceee RHG bro.

Well, yes and no. You could argue that potential for creativity trumps the RHGs who are overpowered, but since creativity is pretty much infinite then you are cutting off just a few minor scenarios of a very large pool of ideas.
On the other hand, it would be hard as all hell to write a proper, realistic and believable scenario where someone beat the Undefeated if he didn't have the major weaknesses you placed with him. I don't think he's THAT overpowered, but I don't think he'd be a fun character to write an RHG against.
I also don't get why people call Zero overpowered. At all. Compared to some RHGs here I think he's actually substantially under-powered.
And I do agree that Nuke-boy would be the most OP character we've ever had in the RHG system. I recall it being something like "Ultra-tough skin, nearly invincible", "capable of spawning any weapon he wants", "martial artist" "tactical genius" "immune to time-manipulation and poisons" and some weird Nuclear-fire ability things that were OP in themselves.
As well as an ability to come back after death five seconds later, full powered and totally decimating everything in an eleven yard radius with a nuke-blast.
He really didn't get it when I critiqued it...three times.
