Heres a tip: don't save up for a strong unit early (speartons, giants, mages, shadowrath ect.) because once that unit dies, their leftover army will pwn your miners, with having more economy than you, or could send a quarter to kill miners, while others kill the strong unit.

Watch replays and see when high level people get certain units. Basically you want to be able to slightly one up your unit while keeping as high an economy as possible..

yes, but after you gave lots of miners, you get better units like speatons.

Always try to spend the least amount of money to beat whatever your opponent has, while spending the rest on miners. If you opponent goes defensive, pressure. If your opponent pressures, pressure back. Most of the time being defensive is a mistake. This may not seem relevant, but you will find that it is much easier to balance attack units with eco if you are getting units and not defensive structures.

Its mostly depending on the situation, but what I can say is. Learn how to TECH-UP...You dont know what it means? Tech-Up is when you tier up a unit category, for example you go from swordwrath into spearton...fact is, you have to time your tech-up, to early you got less eco and whatsoever, to late your oppontment will come and win...

So actually, at the beginning, always buy only miners, swords and sometimes archer (situation depends). Then, after you got a good eco, just like 8 miners on gold, 1 on mana (XD its up to you how many) then you shouldnt buy swords anymore, instead start to buy speartons....also, dont forget upgrades like miner hustle which will gave you faster eco....the rest is up to you, how you will continue, your strat, the units you will buy. Just try some things out and practise ^_^

whow ho ^_^ your just like me...i am also worrying about losing my ratings...in the past i was ^_^ welp, what I can tell you is: make an alt account, practise with it, and if ya think your skills get better, do ranked with your main ^_^ also, ratings are only numbers, skills shows how strong you are ^_^

I just want to put out there right now that if you're going to use an alt account to practice, you're going to drop. Simple as that. You're not going to be improving if you're scared to lose rating; if you can't keep your rating consistently there it means you're not *actually* of that level. If you rank hard, eventually you're going to move up. If you rank on alts, you'll vs players lower level than you, meaning you won't be used to the skill level of your main, and once your alt hits your main level, well, why not just rank on your main? Simple as that.

Don't listen to Shadow's advice of practicing on an alt. The only way to improve quickly is to rank hard and fast on your main.

Alts are not as bad as you think. Alts are useful for trying out new tactics and strategies without having the risk of losing rating on a main from a bad one, or tactics that you are not good at. If you were 1800 level and wanted to learn how to kite, would you try all manners of combinations on your main or on an alt? Its simply the act of ranking up from 1200 to your level that reduces one's rating, but you can offset that just by playing normal level matches every few games.
