Please try not to be offended.
So i just watched a video about a UK and US comparison, it was quite interesting to hear so many things that are so different...

If you want to watch it, here it is:
US compared to UK (Click to Show)

It got me thinking, "there are a lot of nationalities on stickpage, so many people from around the world, and we know so little about eachother? So this is a open topic.
Ask some questions about some nationalities you know, and just so we won't be asking the air, just kinda say "Hi i'm ____, and i'm from ____" Just so we know a little about you, so if someone has a question about where you live they can ask. Or if they want to compare you can. And many people do things differently even in the same country. But it would be cool to see how we are all the same or different.

So...

I'm pin, i'm from Texas, in the United States.

My question for anyone in a different country, what are some common stereotypes you have about Americans?
Good or bad.

Edit: So i think there are a few differences in states too, so ask a little closer to home if you want to. C:

Sounds interesting. I'm from Espoo thats a city near Helsinki in Finland. Well the stereotypes vary quite lot. Sometimes it's like all americans are fat patriotic rednecks and some people think americans as their heros. Telling how social (compared to finnish people) they are and how would they like to move to America because it's easy to get rich there. At liest thats what i have heard. My question is which temprature do you consider as cold and what hot in your country?

GuardianTempest here, from the Philippines (dime a dozen). I live in an airbase in the NCR, how nice that all the military bases (I've seen so far) have residential areas.

Pin's Question:
From what little memory I have, there are several different views about Americans. They can either be harmless tourists or wanting to taking advantage of the locals (an obsolete and basic view). Also, they have loads-a-money. Then there's what Findood said. However on the internet I know they're a cast of snowflakes ranging from people like you to people like everyone else.

Findood's Question:
Hot: Summer (Late March to early June), it's just plain baking. Though I have my A/C on almost all the time so I wouldn't really notice. For me, as long as I'm in direct contact with sunlight or the weather's clear I feel hot.
Cold: Rainy Season, also the mountain provinces like Tagaytay and Baguio (especially the latter). The rain cools everything down to around 20-something degrees? I don't really measure it but when it rains it's nice and cool.

Question to other Filipinos:
There are so many of us, how? What are your reasons for joining Stickpage? What led you here?

That man is an inadequate representative. Not because he said much that was wrong, but he looked like a complete dickhead.

Good or bad.

Whenever we got something that we considered a bad grade on a test, we used to make ourselves feel better by saying that Americans probably got C's all the time.

Anyways, I am from Philippines, Surigao, with Fordz and yeah. It feels good here, just a normal town, not big or small. We have mcdonalds here who can't beat Jollibee the godamn big fat bee.

To Pin's question, they're good. They are friendly and they love this place. Well not all americans who visited Philippines.

To you all peeps out there, how's your culture in there?

Pin's Question:
Many people consider living in America is a lot better. In our country politics are shit, and so the whole country at this moment is shit, that is why many people go living in America. Many people think the politics of the USA are better.I don't know.

Findood:
I'll talk in Celsius, because that is what we use :>
Less than 10 degrees = cold, though i consider it good.
More than 33 degrees = hot as fuck.

My question:
Are politics are good in your country and why?

Well in Texas some of us are wimps. Hot is around June, when it's 90F - 115F (32C - 46C) and around now, november or late october when it just hits below 60F (15C and below). 60 is already quite cold to some of us, idk, i heard some people get VERY low in temperature, but a lot of us complain about it being a little chilly, including myself.

That's alright, it was pretty cool to hear, i knew some would be a bit inadequate, but you know, you could always tell us some of the things that were wrong c:

Not gonna lie, a lot of us who arent A students, are happy for C's. I struggle in school, so we get C's we're like "Alright cool! Atleast i'm passing!" I think that was the first step into our laziness... When we were younger we congratulated C's as passing and okay! So now, a lot of students aim to make a C, and not an A or B.

My question:
Are politics are good in your country and why?

I say no, we have a democratic system as you know, but a big issue with our country is Money and Religion.
We are quite greedy honestly, a lot of stuff we go over is over looked if it Costs too much money, or if they think that people wont have to work at all for it. Like free health care, we don't want to allow that, we wont make any money off of it, so everyone has to pay for medicals, even things like childbirth, car accidents, random violence, all of it comes with a bill later on. They save your life, and kill your wallet.
We also haven't really seperated Church from law. Most people would like everyone to be Christian or Catholic, some just want everyone to have atleast a god to believe in. And in court, you swear that you'll tell the truth by god. And some people may not like that because they may not be religious or they may not be talking about their god.
Some people want to take God out of the pledge, but then again, america was founded on christianity so that would be a horrible thing to do.
These little things arent HUGE right now, but do cause some contrversy.
AND, a big one right now, Gay marriage. We dun like that shit. (I do though xD)
Right now our President is trying to get Gay Marriage legalized, but our country doesnt like it because the LGBT makes up about 10% of us. So the other 90% doesn't like it. Some by religious standards, and some by moral standards. And being caught in the middle of that as a bisexual male, has me scared sometimes because people die and get beat up and thrown out of houses sometimes for this stuff. And living in the bible belt, if you go against god, you go against Murica.

I also think that we are full of ourselves sometimes, we want to be the chief and commander of every country, which causes some issues sometimes.
This is all from my point of view as a SR in highschool, if i'm wrong i'm sorry. Lol

Q:
How is the military involved in your country?
Do they ask for recruits, or are you forced?
Do you have one?
Do they make themselves known, or do they sit back until something happens?

Terkoiz of fucking course
@Findood well, hot here is just above 35 degrees. Cold here is just below 20 degrees, due to the fact that we will never have winter season and the -ber months are rainy most of the time.

My answer to Pin's question:
They respect goodly and are impressed by our hospitalities. Also we think they're kinda rich all the time.
My question:
How's all filipinos here on stickpage doing?

Where on earth did you get that idea lol. I'm as far from European as you can get.

That's a bit too general of a question.

It's mandatory to enroll in the army around the age of 18 if you're a Korean citizen. Also, there are American bases all around Korea. There's one in the heart of Seoul, and you can't officially enter without an American passport. It sucks because they have all the American products (Lays, Wrigley's Gum, Tacobell, Burger King, Red Bull, etc.) that most of Seoul doesn't have.

Do they make themselves known, or do they sit back until something happens?

Well...

No, Korea whether sucks. It's not as bad New Jersey, but it's up there. Unless you like long winters. Our summers aren't that bad though.

Well our rainy weathers here are thrice much massive than yours, it can bring like signal number one even if it's not a typhoon.
And I really want to experience winter snow, like seriously.
Altho you're not talking about rainy weather, I don't give two shits.

I have a question about Koreans. Why are most if not all your movies whether it be Action, Horror, or Drama always so melancholic? Why are your endings always so bittersweet and tragic?
