Good Thread Archidon Leader Jerry, of the Furious Napkins
I could really use learning these tips (Especially Spearton Micro >.>) as controlling archers and kiting while keeping my speartons close so you don't get extra volley shots is a struggle for me

Quote from DragonArcherZCA G-Kiting guys is fucking Uber Tier Micro.
Basically, you have to use an archer to do a loop (so the arrow doesn't hit where you archer is), and G-kite to deal damage. Repeat process to snipe miners without taking damage on your archer. My suggestion: Don't try this. It's so damn slick though, but losing an archer is so easy if you mis-micro.
I think you guys already know that to scout CA you can do a loop to not get hit. Basically you go slightly deeper so you're in range and G-kite it when you're doing the loop.
This is do-able... without lag.

I don't think anyone can pull it off very consistently so doing it pays off though. Losing your archer trying to do it isn't worth it.

once lag hits- the delay messed everyone's micro and the game is macro based..... :/

i have only ever done it twice but its not even worth it since you only get about one hit doing pretty much nothing and everytime you try you increase the rick of getting your archer killedQuote from DragonArcherZI don't think anyone can pull it off very consistently so doing it pays off though. I could imagine a really top player someday pulling off this sick micro consistently and sniping miners. Shiiiit.

I can't believe I only noticed this now! This is a great thread, but why is there a chaos tip on the Order Section? Anyways good job and I can't come up with more micro ideas since what I mostly use is in this thread.

What about micro for giants?
I do remember moving the weaker giants behind the stronger ones and animation cancel, but is there anything else besides those two?
For instance, what is a good way to escape attacking enemies?
Is is better to just attack and die or to run meanwhile stopping to attack every so often?

Attack and die in most cases. Meanwhile focus on getting your reinforcements regrouped to defend against a counter attack and use any advantages the previous attack gained you wisely.
If defending, it may be best to just garrison for the moment and save that 1500 for later if possible. Knowing when not to and when to garrison takes experience though and depends on what the enemy force is composed of.

Why would you garrison... If you have giants you should most definitely have merics.
Also, why would you "Attack and Die?" That's like anti-micro :/

I think Attack and die means you don't try to recover the giant. Makes sense, I think, since giants are probably too slow to retreat from anything other than giants anyway.

Giants can probably retreat from Magikill. Just saying.

For archers with the fire arrows increased range u can shoot their miners without being in range of their ca killing their economy with a few archers in the early game and slaughtering their troops. I recommend it on short maps cause it doesn't look suspicious cause ur at the center pole but it still works well on medium and looks really out of place on grass hills but works. Only on row can shoot at a time still being out of range though.

In a sparcher vs. sparcher, if the opponent sends his spears to attack your archers move your entire army forward and attack their vulnerable archers. Obviously, if they try to run forward kite them. Make sure that your opponent's archers are close by, if not, then just kite away. Also take the amount of spears into account. If they have many spears then you'll probably lose more archers. If, however, everything works then you should be able to kill around 10-12 of their archers, whereas only 2-3 of your archers will die. Similarly, the same can be done with sword + archer.
WARNING: do this only if they attack your archers.

The problem is though, if they have good micro, they can run their spears back when they see you doing this, thus blocking your arrows. However, I think this tactic can be used against spears in shield wall; I've had a few pros do it to me and even done it myself. Basically you run your units through their spear and shoot their archers, and if you're forward kiting, you can kill quite a few. This only works because spears take so long to come out of shield wall that you will possibly have run past them by the time they start moving again.
