How did you learn to animate is what the title basically say so this thread is were you talk about how you learned to animate...........
Now is that time you share how you learned to animate XD

so how i learned animating was when my brother gad a school project about flash and there he made a stickman fight and so when he showed me a bit of his progress i got interested and started to watch him at home and finally i learned on how to do it(basics like making new frame and how it works and how to....i forgot the term(CTRL+Enter)..... and so i started to make mt first animation Ever and it was only a circle moving to one side to the other and(very chopppy) ) so i started to something else like stick fight and others and a year later i found out about this s called Rhg system so i decided to join in (im veeeeeeery nooob before now i improved a bit ) so thats how i learned to animate.......

How About You????? can you share it to everyone else??

I guess I just... practiced?.

No one taught me to animate the basisc or something, I just watched a crapton of tutorial videos on youtube and the rest was pure practice, of course I asked some stuffs to some friends here and there, but I learnt by myself.

Practice and CC from the Pivot Section back when it was good.

But it's been years since I've touched Pivot and I've forgotten everything now.

I've started off animating with Flipnote Studio on the DSi. I sucked on there when I first started, so when I found out about Flipnote Hatena, I studied a bunch of other stick fight animations and I slowly started improving.
Soon, I got really good at stick fighting and posted my first full one. After many years of using Flipnote, I soon started to get into flash and I loved using it. Flipnote Studio had a lot of limits, so using Flash was amazing for me. Although I wasn't really good at drawing with a mouse, I got more and more used to it. Hyun's vids mostly helped me out when I was trying to improve in Flash.
However, at some point, I went back to Flipnote to get back in shape. Then at May 31st, Flipnote Hatena got cancelled, and I was angry, but then I remembered Flash, so I soon used it as an alternative. I still use Flipnote Studio sometimes, but not all that often.
But if we do start having Flipnote RHG's, I might consider going back to it again.

I never watched any tutorials, just figured things out as I went. youtube didn't exist when I started animation, so tutorials were tougher to come by. I never bothered with them, and instead tried to come up with my own unique way of doing things.

It all started when I got introduced to Pivot. I tried it out without any tutorials which lead to bad results. So I watched tutorials and shit until I started to get the hang of things. I still wasn't satisfied with my animations so I looked for an animation program. Unfortunately, I wasn't successful with that until I found Hyun's tutorials. I got Macromedia Flash 8 and learned shit from his tutorials. After that, I never watched tutorials and just look at animations and learn shit..

Oh my god Molgera we're the same
I also started animating with flipnote
Also last year while I was browsing youtube I saw a stick figure thumbnail, which reminded me of Fluidanims. I went for it and was amazed, and got inspired. Then Fordz introduced me to animating and the rhg world. Done.

My friend showed me Stickpage (kill crazy jay) and later I checked it out. From there I started using pivot, but I never watched tutorials. Let me tell you, it looked like shit! One day I was f***ing frustrated and searched it up on youtube, and found Hyun's tutorial series. Like, DAMN I got flash 8 and started. (I was only 10 back then and I was lazy, so while watching his tutorial, I copied each pose frame-by-frame and it looked OK.) I don't watch tutorials now, I just watch and analyze some animations on Deviantart, and also get a few tricks from Livestream (Yun, Hyun - LOL - and Terkoiz don't stop livestreaming coz of that LOL), and now I can animate! Story of my life :|

I started with Microsoft Power Point, using motion paths as tweens, found pivot, messed around with that. All the while though I knew about flash, then I decided to get it and learn to use it, very on and off.
