My friend has a program called "RPG maker" and he's planning to create a game called "The Quadra Blade". He already made a logo for the game but he seemed that it was too simple and the sword was obviously cropped:

He asked me if I can remake the logo and make it cooler. Well, I accepted his request and start working. Before I explain the procedure on how I made this, here are the programs I used for the logo:
- Macromedia Flash 8 Portable
- Adobe Photoshop CS4
Firstly, I still used the sword design from the old logo having no idea that the sword actually came from the game "Legend of Zelda" (too bad for lack of originality :(). I used line tool to outline the design. After outlining, I used Gradient tool to color and also add a "shine" effect to the sword making it more realistic and detailed. Here's the result:
The Sword (the picture was too big for the thread so I send an upload link) (Click to Show)

After making the sword, I exported it as a PNG file and opened Photoshop to add the text. I used the font "Felix Tiling" for the Game Title and put some bevel effect so that it looks "3-Dimensional" to avoid dullness. To make the sword and the text pop-up together, I used drop shadow. So yeah, it came up like this:

I showed this to him, but he said adding outline on the edge make it look better. This might be the final product:

So that's how I remade it. I will not ask for CnC but giving some suggestions is okay. I hope you like it! Good day everyone! :D

I like the sword and all but the gradients are way to noticible. Try to make them subtle and barely noticible. Unless those types of gradients srnt you style i would recommend them

Legend of Zelda: Four Sword Adventures (Click to Show)

I'm extremely disappointed that you would copy a sword for your logo. Sorry but I played way too much of Four Swords to not recognize that. It almost seemed like you looked up Quadra Sword and got a Four Sword image and decided to use it. Don't take designs and claim them to be your own.

I'm terribly sorry about that. Honestly, the logo design was first made by my friend:

But he said the design looks too simple and the sword was obviously cropped. He said I must remake the logo and make it better. I have no clue that the sword came from the game "Legend of Zelda". Anyway don't worry now, I changed my explanation including that I admit the sword design was not originally made by me.

It would look better if the sword went through the text horizontally rather than vertically, this would cut down on the height of it. If it's too tall, it won't look too appealing.
