I think the trouble with facing Handy is that he's more of an endgame type opponent if you let him be. But picture for a moment- you pit your character against someone like Handy, and your character loses all motivation to be a part of the RHG system or whatever like Azure was saying.
You can still keep writing them! ^_^
If your character's on the verge of quitting, you can always look for a way to bring em back. Or even still- keep writing that character after they've gone and left the system, pit them against other characters because... maybe they're
a genocidal maniac and your character wouldn't like that. Or you as a writer, for whatever reason, just happen to want to pit your character against
a giant hamster. There's nothing stopping two characters having a tussle save for what happens with their own two writers.
So don't feel like you have to write yourself in a hole. Dig yourself out every once in a while and try to have a bit of fun.
