Mahlo followed the lead of the others, quickly getting to the ground next to the others

The monster exploded in a blast of light and heat that tore the house apart and blasted at our heroes.
Shards of debris and the house flew above there heads.

Jase tried to stay close to the ground to avoid the shrapnel.

The light from the blast blinded him, and the heat probably gave him blisters. But luckily the shrapnel went over his head, leaving him pretty much unharmed. He breathed out heavily.

Sadaharu slowly uncovered his head as he gripped Mahlo's arm tightly, "Hey so uhhh...you can pull me up anytime you're ready." The lack of a firm ground below him slightly worried him, but thankfully his toes were somewhat propped up on something below him.

The blast having subsided, Rana looked up to make sure the coast was clear.
"Everyone ok?!" she called out.

"I believe I'm fine," Jase said as he looked around himself.

Sadaharu shook his head as the dust flew from his hair, "Oh you know...just hanging around," he coughed.

Rana brush the ash out of her hair and sat up on the ground looking at the setting sun in distance over the Fujino cityscape.
It was then that she started to laugh,
"You know, I thought today was going to be an ordinary school day, instead her I am with people I've hardly met going back into this hell to try and help..." she joked, "I can't believe this didn't drive me crazy sooner!"

"That so?" Sadaharu grunted, pulling himself out of the hole and taking a moment to catch his breath. The sky above him glowed a golden warmth as he closed his eyes. "With all that's happened today, I'd almost swear this was all a dream..." he murmured.

Mahlo sat up from his spot having realized the coast was clear. Luckily, he hadn't broken anything. He panted slightly as he looked at Sadahuru.

"I'm thinking the same thing." He replied.

Suddenly there was a huge explosion of in the distance and the Angel Gabriel loomed in the distance glowed for a second and was suddenly covered in spikes.
"What the hell..." commented Rana.
Suddenly, a message started to come in on Sadaharu's radio.
"Hello...this is...Lieutenant Kagura...is anyone on this frequency?"

Sadaharu sat up and lifted the device to his mouth. "I'm here Captain," he replied as he stared up at the angel. "What's going on over there?"

"Captain? Captain Kagura!" Silence filled the air.

Sadaharu stowed away the radio and turned to everyone else, "What do think guys?"
