A while ago, the imbalance caused by rage was addressed. A new imbalance in the game is kiting.
There are a number of reasons why kiting is problematic. First and foremost, it punishes those who successfully take the center and who pursue opponents. The chased, who should by any measure be in a lesser position, actually have advantage! This makes no practical sense, historical sense, or really any sense.
Second, it is really ludicrous. An archer, running full speed backwards, can spontaneously shot an opponent with 100% accuracy yet not stop running whatsoever?
Third, it unbalances the game, making archers far more powerful than they ought to be. Two archers can basically kite and kill a solo ninja in a long enough field of battle.
I recommend that kiting be eliminated, or the accuracy of archers in retreat or their speed be greatly reduced. Aka, maybe if they shoot, they have a delay before they can run again.
But just like rage unbalanced the game and make swords far too powerful early, the archer kite is even more problematic.

Kiting is a fundamental part of this game, as it is in many. If you can't handle it than I advise you to maybe practice a few games against the AI.

For your first reason, u first have to KNOW the range of archers. Move out of their range their only causing a nuisance. If they actually try to capture the center ambush them. Archers are slower than speartons, ninjas, AND swords. They are also the squishiest unit in order. Have a mage. If they want to hit you punish them for trying to by landing a poison spray. In general, if your having trouble getting on archers, your really doing something wrong, which is lack of ranged units. Your second reason is solved in the same way.
For your third reason archers just counter ninjas. Ninjas have no armor, and medium-slow attack speed. Also if you think about it, shouldn't 600 gold > 450 gold 150 mana? 2 archers may kite a shadowrath but not a spearton. Also to another point is that armor counters archers pretty hard. They're damage will start to be lower if you have a very armor packed team (something like spears and giants and maybe albows) that it will be cost ineffiecent for them. If kiting was removed, an archer can be EASILY be chased and killed by just 2 swords, without rage. They will have little hope if spears charge at them, they can't attack back at all and since spears are faster, the spears will completely smash them.

I figure your problem is that you don't know how to kite yourself. Kiting can be done with basically any unit in their own way.
Except magikill.
Forward sword kiting to get two pegs on a unit quickly.
Shadow animation cancel forward kiting. Or backwards against chaos giants.
Giant kiting. Albow kiting.even merics.
I can teach you if you like. I kite with my archers differently then everyone else here. Maybe my style will benefit you.

Correction: A ninja is worth 450g, 200m. I think.
Archers is fine as is right now. It just takes a little bit of skill to do it.

Kiting is good. The current kiting system is not good. Very buggy and connection dependent.

Yep, IMO too, you even dont need to shinobie ^_^
But what I actually want to say is. Kiting is one of the most imprtant things you have to learn in SE. Without kiting, you wont use the full potential of the archers (includes fire arrows ^_^). If you want to master the kiting ability, you have to know the range of the archer, the speed and the fire rate. One archer alone weak, but a mass.....whow whow. Thing is just you need tankers, cause archers havent got much health.
As a result, archers are the most use unit in SE (excluding miners :p).

I think archer is just a useful unit for short battle , but for long, archer is not that useful indeed
A serious problem is that all archers can easily be cleared once there is a mage, just a poison spray can kill all archers.
So most of the time I only use archer to get the middle, and then tech up to better army like albows and giants

The thing about Archers is that their inexpensive, pack the same firepower (blazing bolts excluded), half the population and are faster than Albows, which is very tempting early, mid and late game. :)

Think is just archer are mostly not alone ^_^ And about the magikill, first try to poison them, then gg ^_^
