I've been playing for roughly a year now, yet of all that time I can't decide, albows or archers

albows can fly around with the ability to penetrate armor, and aren't exactly expensive, but cost more gold and mana than archers

archers are cheaper and faster with the ability to do more damage , but can't penetrate armor

I can't decide so I'm leaving that to you

I use archers and medium-long and long maps or early-mid game, and I use albows on medium maps (shadowalbow) and on short maps late game. I also use them against spearton, juggernight, shadowrath, swordwrath, crawler, bomber, eclipsor, and giant mass

Once upon a time I killed an entire army of albows that was using the giant-albowtross strategy with nothing but a few bombers by lining them all in a row. That was fun.

Every unit has a different use in an army. It's knowing when to buy which units that makes you good at macro.

In the past I preferred Albow, since Albow has armor and can do much damange to spearton
but now I would prefer archer

since albow 's speed is too slow, once there are 2-3 mages, albow would easily be killed by poison or explosion, once the groups of albows got killed, the game will nearly over already
even though archer would also got killed by mage easily, but cost of archer is much lower, so if they are died, the loss will be less than that of albow

Against order, I seldom use the archer in late game or even mid game; I tech up to allbows as fast as I can, since archer micro would be much better spent on mage and shadow micro eventually. Allbows are best for me because they are almost completely mindless; I could just press the attack button and watch them tear through whatever it is.

Archers are probably more powerful if you can micro them; but like I said, you can only micro so many units at once.

Early game I will use archidons
Late game I suicide them and tier up to albowtross

p.s. you will easily get fucked up if you decide to use albowtross at the early game because they may archer mass and pwn your albowtross with ease

Archers all the way. If the rest of your army falls due to whatever reason. Archers kiting can still retaliate and do major damage without taking many losses themselves due to kiting. You can't really do that with Albowtrosses, due to their shorter range and lower speed.

The extra health offered by Albowtrosses is irrelevant too, due to the fact that they will be behind other units, so it would allow them to survive a single explosion, but if you let a mage into that range without moving your weaker units, you should re-think your micro. The only useful aspect of Albowtrosses in my mind is their armour-piercing capabilities, which I really only use against mass giants or Speartons.

The quick, nimble archer or the glass cannon albowtross? Here's the answer; Archer for the early to middle game, albowtross for endgame.

Firstly, at mystery, if you lose all your archers or albows, the cost doesn't matter, it's basically GG unless you did MAJOR damage back to him. So yeah.

Now for archers/albows, archers all the way. They're quick and easy to kite with - you realise how clumsy deads are and how little armor they actually have if you try Chaos for a while. They're cheap and easy to transition from into mid-game. As for end-game, I rarely use albows because Giants 2 beat them, and it costs 850 gold, 200 mana to setup your first albow. Mage and meric is much better to tech to with your resources.

XD i dont know why i thought that you also killed his giants.
bombers alone however will not do this by themselves @whomever the above quote was targeted at
crawlers or juggers have to shield them from the bolts. which crawlers will be more viable faster speed and giants boulders stun them quick enough. juggers are a bit slower and will be more affected by stun plus the cost more eco wise either way both are in the same tier as bombers so you will need to not simply spam the same unit but select one unit at a time of different kinds to load in the preferred order

Indeed, archers kiting is good for retreating as they provide counter fire that may scare the chasing enemy off
if you used albowtross instead it cannot be achieved

I usually get albowtross when I have a giant at the middle, so they can get a cover

Why can't you do the same with allbowtross? It can be done, allbowtrosses can kite.
...under the condition the enemy doesnt have archers.
