I would suggest using a sword mass to counter it; you can look for Azxc's threads on sword starts, since they generally counter spears quite well.

I feel ya bro. I'm stuck around 1550-1600 because of massing, especially speartons. :(

It would be good early game before they'd even have a mass of it, but what if the spearton masser choose not to attack until the mass is complete (i.e. garrisoning their units and setting up CA and miner wall?)

Generally if they're turtling, they will have a castle archer or two, so you'll need to use the ghost Spearton from the Tower Spawn to absorb arrows for your archer. Remember that Castle Archers will shoot at the first thing that comes into their range until it dies. You'll want to kill their miners. You can station some archers or Albowtrosses just outside the range of the Castle Archer and that will prevent them from mining the second gold row too - halving their gold income.

sometimes when i play this awesooooome! game, and i'm about to win, right before i win i get lagged out. i try turning off music and leaving on sfx. i also adjust quality to low. right now i'm stuck at rating 1236, i should be all the way up at 1600+. idk what else to do to keep from lagging out.

about the spearton massers, start off making 5 miners and making 3 miners pray. you should use fully 3-4 fully upgraded giants, 1 magikill with all skills, a bunch of healers with poison heal. also, use tower spawn in larger maps. try not to go on offensive until the time is right. let him come to your castle, and have all CA's. that'll give you an advantage, where you can kill off all his annoying speartons. if there are archers, even better! if there are 5+ archers just use magikill wall on them. mk wall kills off archers quickly. note that when you use magikill wall enemy units will target magikill and not giants. if you are able to cast mk wall make your magikill stand behind giants. if magikill is killed then u still did good because you'll have killed a lot of his archers. one magikill for a lot of archers is a good trade in my opinion. if he doesn't use archers then make miner walls. while speartons destroy walls, giants are throwing boulders and magikill use mk wall, + 3 CA. when he breaks your walls, normally will retreat. as he retreat use mk venom to do poison dmg. then rebuild walls and from that point you should win. if he keeps fght after destroying walls, try to keep magikill alive. if spearons target magikill use mk wall and target your own magikill with it. if he use albows + speartons then kill speartons asap. when speartons dead, attack and if he retreat then chase. giants are literally made for albows. giants can kill an albow VERY fast. also use mk culminate on albow, cuz albows don't like fire dmg. if he use ninja stealth lvl 2 for magikill, garrison everyone once ninja is visible on minimap, so CA can wound/ kill ninja. note that ninja go slow when stealth mode. after ninja leave then attack at enemy castle. but focus on killing ninja because chances are ninja wants to get you magikill and then bring back all units. enemy meric + spearton = kill spearton cuz merics don't attack. constantly use mk wall, venom, culminate on speartons when this happens and make miner walls. if you got lotsa! money send out all miners together and attack an annoying target. then max out "pos. inc. gold" just in case. then make extra giant and meric. if he use magikill with speartons then buy one ninja, max stealth and go after enemy magikill. make sure ninja is fairly close to magikill before using stealth, then when you kill magikill bring your ninja to center of stage to protect your ghost spawn. this also makes it so you can see enemy units with ghost and ninja will be closer for killing another enemy magikill if he decides to tries making a new one. if he notices only a ninja at center spawn and decides to attack, try killing meric, archer, new magikill, ninja, swordwrath, or just wound spearton with stealth venom and then quickly bring ninja back. giant + spearton = just kill everyone with mk spells and boulders while merics heal. ninja masser = mass spartans and archers or albows, CA's. albow masser, if it exists, mass giants and 1 magikill, use mk culminate. swordwrath masser, use ninja/spearton + magikill/archer/albow, don't use giants, he will focus units on one giant and kill giant. note giants only hit one at a time and if he has 40 sword wraths then imagine how long that would take. archer masser = spearton + magikill, use mk wall, venom, culminate. healer masser + one giant attack statue strategy = use swordwraths to attack one meric at a time. i saw this one time and i and i actually lost to it, but i figured out how to counter.
the reason i couldn't win it was cuz when i was attacking i wasn't targetting one meric at a time,his giant brought my castle hp down, even after i strengthened statue. attacking giant will NOT work. you can also rush the enemy castle im sure it would work great even if he put up miner walls, had 3 CA's. if you just started massing speartons and archers and went straight for the enemy statue. it took a whole lot of a long time for that giant to win, but he won. i would probably beat that guy now though. except for the fact that i keep lagging out >:l please give ME some solutions, i hope i answered all YOUR questions. :)

most spear massers opt for the statue, for me i make minerwalls near the tower and use giants infront of them so they can target my wall, shadowrath to kill any magi/merics and the magikills all poison and e-wall them the lot is destroyed in seconds however you can always premature e wall your gaints so so they would die quickly if you lack walls.

On a more serious note, don't EVER underestimate something as cheap. Don't say that you can play for real, say that if it is a bad strategy, then you should be able to counter it. Like others mentioned albows. Like jerrytt said...it's not 6 bolts. One bolt per health, that would be cray lol. I usually set up Spear/Archer OR Albow/Mage (Archer fire arrows do so much and you can kite back very easily), and the mage needs to really get those spells off.

this is true and it happened to me, I was starting a match is green hills with a spearton's masser, my stratgy is to get 1 miner & 1 archer at the beginning then make archer attack,when he reach the enemy side he will shot the miners..after 6sec you wil see a spearton comeing, at this point start kiting with archer while you kiting keep buying swordwraths but don't make them attack until you make at least 3 swordwrath when your archer reach ur statue area make them attack his spearton (he might keep attacking ur archer) if he did make the archer garrison.
After the spearton get killed attack with all ur forces on his miners before they garrison then he will surrender.

Sorry I didn't played against spearton masser from long time so there is no replay.

Simply play defensive if you cannot counter it. A good strategy is to build double overlapping walls, triple wall archer, 3 magikill, and an army of ur choice. The magikill excel at splash damage, so make good use of their spells. That's personally what I do and I'll soon post a link showing it being done.
