As I mentioned in the past we have been tracking users that we consider slow based on low FPS and high Ping(we won't disclose exact details because its always changing). A "Slow" user will now be matched up against other "Slow" users only.
Stick Empires servers are never at more than 5% so they are never to blame for a slow game. The problem is if one user is slow it doesn't matter how fast the other is, the game will have to run for both at the slow users speed. Therefore if two slow users play each other neither will be upset because they are used to slow games. And on the flip side now fast users will be playing each other and having more fun as well.
The downside will be potentially longer queue times with the upside of more enjoyable games for all.
As a player myself I know the worst thing can be when your in game time is at 4 min and real time is 20. Personally I think the extra wait will be far worth it.
Finally, this system is new and we are still working on the definition of who will be slow. This groups qualifying variables may become less lenient over time. If you fall into this group of "Slow" you can also climb your way out by playing more and more non-"Slow" games. This also works vice versa for fast users falling into the slow Category. So Close those TABS! CLOSE those programs! minimize and put on Low quality! and don't play in clients!

As I said, the system is now in place but new, we will make gradual adjustments so not to ruin the matchmaking

Any way you can add add advanced options to remove any excess juices (details) from the backrounds? As beautiful as they are, some users who play on Potato's still lag w/ them on the lowest settings.

I doubt the any background images are causing problems. And remember, it's not an issue with players on potatoes, but how far away they are playing.

What type of potato do you use? I personally prefer fried.
