I probably should try out new things but this style is just really fun to animate and I think BSE is the perfect competition to just experiment with it. I also like to expiriment with angles and effects though but I tend to do that when I'm animating a full-lenght/RHG battle or whatever it is.

Basically I'm trying to keep my BSE rounds as simple as possible but I'll definitely look if I can do something diffirent next round, even if it's just a really small detail

Keep your epic shit for round 10 Chewy, just keep doing what you've been doing, it's working

I'm not saying is a bad style, is just that these rounds are perfect to practice new things....

Thanks Camila for the round scores and CnC, Overall scores updated! https://www.dropbox.com/s/hzyvwvdh68juugp/BSE%20V5%20Leaderboards.xlsx
I also put several addition tables like random statistics and participant demographics (Hewitt style-ish lol). One thing left that I just want to put here instead on the Excel table:

Judges average: 5.6 | 5.4 | 5.9

Why you look at that, PivotBlimp and pyrosamurai are changing places, making PivotBlimp into 3rd and pyrosamurai 5th atm!
Also both PivotBlimp and _SAVY_ are neck to neck for their 3rd place battle! Who's going to finally maintain it?

Sorry if I couldn't do any help for CnC because that isn't my real capability when it comes to animation ^^" but I dare to swear, I love the entries apart from the scores which judges gave (though it's still important here). See you around for the next 3 rounds, it's going to the end!
Congrats to Chewy for the 1st place and SJT15 for the 2nd place on this round. Keep up the good work, all.

EDIT:

He does? When I went to his livestream this 1 time, people kept questioning why I use the line tool, but it was a long time ago I might be wrong. But I'll use line tool for now on.

Actually I'm also a line tool user. In fact, I'm proud of it. Not meaning to show some cases, but here's one of my recent animation for a collab back in January: http://fav.me/d73rum0 it was made using line tool and people said it was smooth (well, I do too X)).
So I think just use a tool that you like the most and develop your animations there. Even though it could depend on the situation e.g. brushes for blood/smoke effects and lines for buildings/objects.
Hope to see you more on the next rounds.

Maybe set it for the next round goal, that might work XD

Oh my animation must have been confusing but it was finished.. :( oh well

Also i don't want to argue or anything but
how come its automatically a one in bse now when it "looks unfinished" eventhough that wasn't a rule since the begining of the competition?
I promise this will be my only question.

oh dear.... even I thought it was unfinished... you got a really big problem there man, like I couldn't even see all the movements listed there and the "ending" was a stick falling? onto... something?. I think the judges to "tried to guess" if the anim was finished or not and just put you a 1.0.

If it does bother you , I can tell'em to judge it again...

Yea i apologize I couldn't determine how the animation looked because my laptop was giving a bit of trouble before, but yeah i'd really appreciate if i could get it judged again. Sorry for the trouble.

Guy, the biggest part of animation is the ability to tell a story via imagery. You shouldn't have to explain what's going on to your audience. If the judges said it was unfinished it's because you failed to convey your message.

hmmmmm, those are well put together sentences, i have never discribed animating in such a way, but it is 100% true, now i fully understand my 5,4 and why he said that he could have given me lower

If based on a judges opinion they could say any finished animation is unfinished as such as well as I have never saw an unfinished rule despite mine being finished.(No hate towards Camila) While their opinion does matter this could deem any animation finished or unfinished despite how it appears.

Since I don't want to argue and spam the thread and bother people if you wish to respond please pm me.

Arhh that's quite surprising, I was so sure that pivotblimp was gonna bag atleast 2nd place?
Chewy out did himself with the bg he made for this round and sjt's style is so nice n clean.
Judging from the scores I guess it wasn't really about creativity and instead quality of the animation..?

lol what's up with FL-Nordin's score that's a bit mean...

No need for you to take it to pm's. I'll end it now. If what you're saying is the case, then how is it coincidental that all three judges watched your animation, drew the same conclusion, gave the same score, and didn't even consider your case to be similar to anyone else's? Yours was the only one that had an extremely sudden stop making it look like you hit the F7 button and leaving it as such. Get over it and stop trying to make excuses man. If anything ask for a restore or move on bro.

I simply took up Camila's offer which would've been a restore and you confronted my post.
And I also said there was no rule for unfinished animations.

only 1 score was mean, and sadly not everyone has the same concept of "creativity" as the other judges, I also gave an explanation of why, so there's no point into bring it in again.

edit: got your scores pyro, judge 1 still gave you a 1.0 tho. Said it was unfinished...

I'm totally fine with that I'm glad to recieve feedback the score doesn't matter to me.
If judge 1 was Arch-Angel I respect your decision even though you were so hostile towards me :)

I'm flattered, but I'd rather be judge 2, that guy was legit.
If I recall correctly, when I judged R1, I was giving people like .5's and shit for incomplete entries. That was long ago :(
