"She's five?"

Slinx didn't move, but he was visibly uncomfortable. Vamprina repeated the question a few more times.

"Yeah...she's five. So what?" he snarled, a slight edge in his tone. Vamprina folded her wings around her before responding.

"So what? I'm decades older than her! How can you even think of me fighting her? She'll die too quickly. Besides, I'm sure she'd have better things to do with her life than die at a young age."

"So you won't fight her?"

Silence.

"Maybe not now. I'll wait until she gets a few decades older."

Slinx frowned. "Humans don't live that long."

"Whoever said she was a normal human being?"

The words of the assassin hung in the air for the remainder of the day.
