There's two real reasons why you didn't use them:

1. Because you're too lazy to look at them and attempt to draw them.
or
2. Because you just want to showcase you and your friends.

Don't make up some "ohh I wannt people to know the community talent ". Most of the animators on this theme have little to very little talent as they are very new animators.

If it's just for him and his friends then he ahould have just given it to those individuals instead of making a thread about it and calling it a "stickpage" theme. If he was trying to make a theme that appealed to all of stickpage then what he did here doesn't make any sense and he definitely should have used some more well recognized figures.
And to be honest, what he did with it is quite laxy, and it shows.

1) This is still a Stickpage theme. Everything in it appeals exclusively to Stickpage users, even if it's just for a select few. It's not official so he can do whatever he wants.
2) Who do you think you are to tell him it's a bad idea to present something he made just because it wasn't made for or doesn't appeal to you?
3) He doesn't have to showcase any RHG's he doesn't want to. He's the artist so that's his choice, and it's nothing to criticise him over. This is like calling bullshit on a random anime poster because "it doesn't have famous faces like Goku in it so appeal to every anime fan"

I have no idea how this count as "lazy". Each of these is just a solid coloured stickman with a cartoony face and a weapon that he could have taken a minute to make if he didn't have the users version. Most people here already know who all the famous RHG's are, so it probably wouldn't take any research at all, where as he'd more likely need to browse all his friends RHG's to double check.
