Nicely done, my only gripe was with the lighting in certain fight scenes.
Yeah, I've never really done much for lighting in my scenes. Mostly I just stick a really freakin' bright lightbulb in the sky, and those torch pedestals in the temple to Anubis were the most complicated array I've ever set up.
I could do better.
Well, I fear that I'm not improving fast enough for our rematch. That was pretty good, but a bit slow. Also, work on the sounds, they're more like blared speakers than anything crisp. I might have to enforce my 'Fullbody my gladiator' if a threshold is reached.
Oh yeah, the sounds! I meant to optimize them for high volume. It's a recurring theme with me- play it so fucking loud the neighbors think the US Army is launching a blitzkrieg against an army of super saiyans.
Also, I'd almost
like to try my hand at fullbody. Torturous as I know it no doubt will be, it'll definitely expand my prowess to new frontiers.
EDIT: Another criticism is the 'close up hit' made in something like MS Paint, the sudden shift in art style detracted from the show. If you're going to do stuff like that, render it in 3D like your 4th battle.
Remember RWBY? I felt an art shift for such a whiplash into action was more or less as appropriate. Admittedly though, it
was rather unexpected and uncalled-for...
That work is really interesting. In this 2D community, your 3D animations give some real fresh air. Also the story is really awesome, and the way you used Magus too.
Good job. Just take care with these human eyes which look creepy as hell, and the feet positions too.
LOL, I remember the one time in all my animations when I actually did bother manipulating the feet! It was all the way back on my first ever RHG demo for this guy, when I thought it was actually worth pulling off. I later remarked that it was such a minute detail that I could cut corners during the blur of violence that is Rock Hard Gladiators, but it appears I've finally been found out.
Well done.
