Back in Demon's Souls, bosses would fuck your shit up for looking at them funny from across the room. That first boss that owned you, that you had a chance to beat? That was a miniboss, and beating him led to an endgame boss punching your shit out of existence for thinking you had skills.

I played Dark Souls once with a friend who kept dying against a character who would stab and kill you one hit. I ran towards the top of a tower and nudged him off.

You're right. That's why I really just don't play MMOs. I played a bit of Planetside though because nothing was really hard to obtain, and I got everything I wanted in the process of a week along with the game is hilarious with the team of friends I had (team is a stretch). We fucked around so much that we somehow end up at capture points and those capture points end up being ours because no one knew how to deal with our outlandish tactics. None of us spent a dime on it and the time wasn't a grind compared to most MMOs. The game however didn't have a whole lot of longevity for me. Kept me for 2 months but for a free game that's awesome.

I'm on the same page as zman when it comes to MMO's, for the most part.

Guess I mostly get my kicks out of going head to head with other players.


Also rugby looks awesome with special effects.

I love being able to outwit opponents in honor based combat (that generally means close quarters, no heals, no OP weapons/skills/abilities. (Depends on the game). In almost every game I play that doesn't rely on guns I love the actual combat. I do not count backing up and shooting projectiles as combat. Cheap builds are smart yes but they are annoying and when I try to use them they are boring.

Honor based combat is heaven for me.

DBX/xenoverse was a great time for me when I had honor based combat. There was so many things I just couldn't tolerate from people though such as breaking the speed and motion mechanic, combos that continue without effort even when you snap vanish out of it, OP moves, and spammers. When my friend Kim was able to literally sit in one spot throwing a move into the air and I exploring in multiple directions making it extremely hard to approach her it just shows the importance of patches to prevent things like this.

Anyways I've been pretty addicted to dark souls 3 lately. Was doing really well for a long time, first death came from the Old Demon King. Invaded a few worlds and shit on everyone in them. Got the Fume Ultra Greatsword currently but I'm not sure if it'd better than Vordt's hammer or not.

It's 4/20 and I've got a freezer sized ziploc bag full of weed. =3
