Tbh, i have to agree with Zero. High-detailed shit looks ugly with your style. Like he said, master basics, then move on to the next level when you got all that jazz over. This is coming from the Fred of RHG stickpage, mind you. I didn't really take my time in animation, might come back, like, right now...

Whenever you decide on creating 3 hours worth of an overly detailed weapon or anything like that, just don't forget a stick figure (a bunch of lines and a circle in one flat colour) will be the one holding it. It looks really sloppy.

I'm like 9,000% sure that Reaper is the edgiest but w/e.

except reaper doesn't have brother issues and carries around super samurai dragon swords. Reaper is just an assassin, Genji is fucking Goku Jesus.

I mean, I'm not discouraging him to use a detailed weapon. In fact, I use detailed weapons on some of my projects. All I'm saying is that with his current skill level, it's going to look like a papercut model, rather than it looking like a physical object, that you know, is what a sword is.

I don't know what this means

are you saying trying doesn't equal done?
cause if so, I understand that, and I don't intend to use a fancy weapon (or really any weapon) until I'm skilled enough to do so

btw, here's the sword I made, idk why I put it here, but I felt like it

It's a great sword, that handle is actually a decent size
(although I do want to entirely remake the handle, and I'll probably make it longer, cause I also think it looks a little short)

a decent size

Are ya sure?
Great sword pics (Click to Show)

THe handles on all of those are at least 1/4 the size of the blade. Aren't greatswords meant to be wielded with two hands? How are two hands gonna fit on that thing?
The handle of your sword is way smaller than that.
The picture is wonderful tho.

Way better then anything I could make q-q

I did say I would extend the handle
(But ya, now that I look at it, handle is a bit short)
At the time of making this, I kinda invisioned it as a one handed weapon (and still a great sword XD) because he is really goo at liftin stuff, but ya two hands seems like a much better idea now that I think about it

Zman: This isn't elementary school. I don't think "copy the teacher" will be applied in College (for artwork, anyway) for the most part. It was a cute story, though.

Cruel: Man that's harsh. I wish I could help you out. I can honestly tell you that all I'll be focusing on is an art class, perhaps another regarding business like smile said, so I wont have the hassle of multiple classes. I liked what you said about getting a part time job in the meantime, though. Although I sort of found that obvious. My greatest fear will definitely be the time-management.
Thank you!

Smile: I like the idea of taking a separate class for a fallback plan. I'll keep my options open.

I really appreciate it, guys.

I fucked up in life so that you didn't have to <3

Yo that swords pretty dope though just make the handle a little bigger and figure out how the fuck you're going to animate it in a side swing and you're golden.

Easing and choppiness are essentials you need to master before worrying about this, BUT the fact that you CAN make decent looking weapons on your own is a good sign that you're artisticly inclined. So good on you.

Nothing important as far as I know and concerned. By the way I remember you promising a iScribble party. But oh well. It's okay if it doesn't happen.
