Football is shitty because there's a penalty called every play because of the ever expanding rule book that leaves even long time viewers unable to explain to me what happened. Street fighter pro play is so boring I've literally fallen asleep trying to watch it. If simple spacing, pre built combos and spamming various iterations of circle rotations do it for you. Then whatever does it for you.
You have to consider, I will get into almost any fighter game and figure it out quickly. Maybe I don't like this one, not because I'm bad at it, but because it's really just not that worth my time.

If you think I never got good enough at video games to understand some of the skill going on in street fighter, you're crazy. Play me at smash bros and I promise you it'll feel like you've seen the light.
Because frankly I'm looking at the list of technical skills used by street fighter 5'ers and comparing to everything someone has to do in melee or project m and wondering how you could be calling me the bad one. I'm trying to watch pro play right now and I am beyond underwhelmed.
It's boring to play, it's boring to watch. It's bad, to me.

Xrd seems to be pretty hype though, I've also been known to watch lots of blazblue play. Though I don't personally have a lot of experience at those games, as it's pretty hard to locate a training partner for those titles.

Probably been hit by this new YouTube terms of service thing. A lot of channels, big and small are being hit by it. It's likely the whole thing will soon die down and the site will go back to normal, otherwise a lot of people are pretty much risking losing their jobs.

though, they have their own site and in hindsight, this is probably better for them because they'd want more people to go to their site, no?

Well I'm not gonna give you an in-depth review on the game, especially since I couldn't be convinced to touch street fighter 5 again without someone paying me to.

But I can make a simple list of things I really don't like about it so that you don't sit here thinkin I don't get it or somethin'. But remember this is personal opinion.

Cell shading: I don't know if it's really the cell shading or what, but long gone are the cartoony days of 2 turbo and we're onto the cell shading...blegh. It just doesn't look good. Kens hair looks like sculpted clay.

Slow: Speaking of 2 turbo, you remember when street fighter was blisteringly fast? Well I liked that, because my thumbs have the speed to input buttons during all that dead time that these new street fighters have while crawling at a sluggish pace. I've seen molasses move faster in my freezer.

Static Jumping Arcs: This works well in precision platformer games like castlevania, but new street fighter games apparently take place on the moon.

Ultra combos with lobotomized controller inputs: Really? Quarter circle -> quarter circle and then you mash kick three times? The fact that this is as powerful as it is on most characters move lists is insulting. Way to reward players immensely for simple inputs.

Pre built combos: Yawn, I mean c'mon. Executed a million times before and done more competently. Just makes me wish it were Tekken.

Meter climbs by getting hurt: I hate this mechanic in most games. You're telling me the enemies super meter or "V meter" or whatever the fuck, their power bar, goes up because I'm kicking their ass? Hold the goddamn phone. Since when are fighter players so inept that they can't come back from a deficit without the developers literally holding their hands?
In smash bros you either believe in the comeback, or it doesn't happen. You're three stocks down? Well when you pull through the fist pump is gonna feel a thousand times more satisfying than any of the flashy shit going on in street fighter.

Akira Nishitani wanted this game to be about speed and execution, not....whatever this crap is supposed to be.

i don't know where your pulling cell shading from but it's pretty apparent that kens hair is garbo, but p much the entire cast looks good, kens hair isn't gonna drastically change your gameplay lmao.

turbo was never that fast. sfv is miles "faster" then turbo. want fast play alpha 3 lmao.

sf has never been a game about ridiculous inputs. sure it takes skill to do crazy fast inputs but that's 25 percent of a fighting games skill man. more inputs does not equal better game. it's how well you use the tools you have, there should be some hard practice to get down these inputs but some people can't. they shouldn't be excluded because they can't do crazy inputs, if they're matchup knowledge is good, they know the game but the only thing keeping them from being decent is because they physically cannot do 2342350 inputs per second p sucks. i don't just mean it's too hard for them i mean physically not being able to do it, arthritis and the like. Hell broly legs doesn't even have working arms and he's able to do good, that's great.

Comeback mechanics have been a staple for years calm down lmao. V gauge just gives you an alpha counter and Vtrigger, which is just a buff in most cases. even then to get enough vgauge in a match you have to use your vskill, it's up to you to build the meter. getting hit builds v gauge but it doesn't build it ridiculously fast.

my prediction here is that YouTube is simply buckling to advertiser pressure, and came up with a new algorithm or a new iteration of an existing algorithm that groups videos into categories for advertisers to opt-in to. Obviously something changed because old videos are being affected. Boogie2988 had a bunch of videos against suicide and they all got demonitized recently. Advertisers don't always want their products displayed next to certain subject matter, and are probably more hesitant to opt in to YouTube advertising because it's more lax than traditional media. That's why I think YouTube is trying a new iteration of something that they can show to potential advertisers to guarantee them their ads will appear where they want it to.

That's usually the way these things work, and it's how I got dinged by their bullshit in the past. Some adsense algorithm looked at the metadata on my site and determined I was hosting content against their adsense guidelines (I wasn't), so I got blacklisted. They don't have any sort of customer service for people who aren't making them loads of money, so the problem goes unresolved and people get confused and make up theories because no one can get a straight answer.

A constant staple of fighters, i don't know what your point is.

I feel like you're making a lot of assumptions here. Like you seem to think I'm upset or in some personally invested in to street fighter, I'm not. You seem to think I'm proclaiming my opinion like it's some kind of iron fact, I'm not. And the very first response you gave me when you came in here was literally "That's dumb" and then you proceeded to assume that I'm not okay with people liking things that I don't like, or that I'm in someway saying it's wrong for you to like the things you like, again, I'm not.

Just like they'll try to argue that I in some way didn't give the game enough of a chance. Surely after you clock a thousand hours into it obsessively you'll enjoy it, then you'll truly get it!

Or maybe these people have a bunch of dedicated that they have reason to justify in there own minds. That now that they're good at it, it was somehow all worth it. But it's a boring boring game and I have nothing to hide about it.

I gave it a perfectly fair chance and based on my experience I came to the conclusion that I didn't like it. The only reason we're having this conversation is because you brushed me off like I had no idea what I was talking about.
