I find that the vast majority of for example romantic comedies are quite poor filmatic wise. Most of them have similar, unoriginal plots, similar stupid humour, and touch on the same themes. They're usually not ground breaking, revolutionary movies that introduce new, unexplored ways of story telling and camera usage. Still, I often find them quite entertaining. Sometimes is nice to watch a stupid feel good movie, have a few laughs and never think about it again.

Romantic comedies are creative works of genius compared to action films.

The bad guy will enrage the hero in some way, usually by killing or kidnapping a friend or family member. There will be a big showdown in an industrial complex - probably with steam and chains. The hero will kill the bad guy's elite bodyguard but get beaten up an wounded in the process. The hero will kill the bad guy in some clever way that involves materials found in aforementioned industrial complex.

There is only one action script in the world. The avoid copyright with creative touches, for example, the industrial complex can be extra steamy.

Yeah, action movies are another example of films that are usually bad, but can be entertaining.

What genres does that leave us with to be good?

Drama, I guess, because that's such a wide genre and compasses pretty much everything. There are many good comedies as well, and also, it's not like romantic comedies and action movies cannot under any circumstances be good films, it's just that there's such a large pile of crappy ones in both genres.

Did you ever see "how to lose friends and alienate people"? Terrible film. You could have seen the first half and then written the script for the second.
