anyone else have seen the new youtube layout?
in my opinion it sucks compared to the *old* design, i can't even be online on my account while i am watching videos, and it load really slow, and I've gotten a lot of errors.

You're the second person I've seen mention a new youtube layout. Youtube looks the same to me as it has for the past year almost, since they updated with that cosmic panda stuff. Are you talking about something different? If not I wouldn't really call this youtube layout "new".

Did some googling like a responsible person and found this page, is this what you're referring to? It looks like they're switching the style back to how they had it pre-cosmic panda, but adding their header that they've been rolling out on all their google products. I kinda like the look so far, except the content surrounding the video looks cluttered, which is something I didn't like about the last youtube layout. The header looks a lot more functional though.

Some people don't like change. It makes then anxious, so they look for reasons to hate it to justify themselves.

1st, youtube change the layout so much which is really annoying, when you finally get used to it, they change it again :l

That's odd, I don't notice a difference in terms of speed. Also, I'm logged on watching videos without any issues. Maybe they're just in the process of working out post implementation bugs.

I'd say have an open mind toward change. Sometimes it's not always that bad.

With a service as large as youtube it's likely they're spot-checking the implementation of the design at various locations to make sure it's running without error, rather than rolling out the update all at once and potentially ruining the site.

Sometimes there is a legitimate reason for why the layout gets changed, other than the site's owners wanting to make it look better. I remember a rather unpleasant layout update from a while back... Youtube took away the ratings on video thumbnails. (Because of advertisement companies.)

Now I can't tell if a video is terrible from just looking at the thumbnail. If they want to do more stuff like that, or dumb services down, taking away customisation to the point of retardation, then I don't like it. If it's just a new look, I'm down with it. (Some people don't seem to be though.)
