...though I guess it's worth it to help you along, huh?

Yeah, another thing interesting we went over was he said in a sense, depression is more of a positive thing rather then a bad thing... Basically what he was getting at was. Depression is the feeling you get, but every action has a reaction so depression is like pain. an alarm being sent to you're brain notifying it that whatever just happened is causing you to feel bad, or sad or whatever. Just like pain is an alarm notifying you're brain that something is wrong with you're body. It's injured or whatever. I like brain exercises and shit like this.

I'm seeing a psychologist and psychiatrist once a week each, and group therapy each thursday. I couldn't imagine paying for it, good lord.

I'm not much of a reader but if you can give me some quick to read sotries or short books online i'd be glad to check them out. And yeah, that quote was interesting. I'll probably do some looking into "Osho"

I'm glad you're interested. If you're not much for reading then I recommend you listen/watch some of his talks available on youtube. He's very clear and easy to listen to. Quite calming too...

It's generally difficult to find a video talk on a specific subject, but listening to any of his talks I guarantee will be illuminating and beneficial.

Here's a video I found that cuts straight to the key concepts of meditation.

Osho said that Jews "are guilty people, and their guilt is very great" because they crucified Jesus, and out of their guilt, are "always in search of their Adolf Hitlers, someone who can kill them". He further claimed that only when Jews "reclaim Jesus", "they will be healthy and whole, and then there will be no need for Adolf Hitlers."

Osho became increasingly critical of homosexuality, and stated, "homosexuals, because they were perverted, created the disease AIDS[...] They can live in their own world, in their own way, and be happy, but they should not be allowed to move in the wider society, spreading all kinds of dangerous viruses."

When asked by gay sannyasins to explain his statements on homosexuality, Osho followed with, "as a homosexual, you are not even a human being [...]. You have fallen from dignity.

criticism with quotations taken out of context. he has some wild ideas that seem crazy at first, but when you actually listen to him present his case he always makes sense in some way or another.

for example, i remember hearing him say that homosexuality is a perversion brought on by a suppressive society, but then proceeded to point out that it doesn't matter who you love, because love in itself is beautiful.

be aware that people love to look for flaws in people, just so they can feel less bad about themselves.

[edit] these are quotations taken from a section on wikipedia about his "teachings". teachings? what teachings? osho's whole work was to unteach what society has done to you. it is the complete opposite. the very title implies that whoever wrote the article knows nothing about the man or his supposed "teachings".

That video was incredible and so was his message, I was just completely shocked to read that stuff after watching it.

Misdirected surprise is almost universally considered humorous. Seriously, that's funny as fuck. Acknowledging that isn't an attempt to feel better about myself, and you're just trying to look for my flaws by trying to pin that accusation on me.

They both focus on treating mental illness, but psychiatrists treat the underlying disease/chemical imbalances with medication, while psychologists treat the behavioral aspects with therapy.

i'm not accusing you, i'm accusing whoever wrote this wikipedia article. sorry if it sounded otherwise.

i just feel that it would be a shame for somebody to see that quote and decide to ignore osho because of it. what a wasted opportunity.
