The controls are either too tight or too slippery, no inbetween. Drifting is an absolute must, because you gain boosts from it. The problem is if you're even slightly imprecise with the angle you choose to take various turns at you will either not turn hard enough or turn too hard, hitting a wall on either side. Then almost as if your turn gains momentum, you begin to rapidly and suddenly jerk the direction you wanted to go, but it's already too late. the transition between automobile styles is super frustrating, if you don't make absolutely certain that you're lined up right prior to the often sudden and unexpected transformation segments you're likely to fly off the map, get trapped in an infinite falling/respawning loop, crash into obstacles which immediatly stop all your momentum or land at a cocked angle causing you to grind against a wall for the next 300 feet. Airplane mode handles like shit, no way around it, it just handles like shit. And the boat mode, handles like a boat.
And it feels like jamming a broken jar up your asshole.

And that's just the controls, there's so much more to this game.

You truly understand the struggle of everyone who played that game ever. Really, for me, the controls were the biggest issue, because if you can't actually manage to properly race, how can you expect to get through the game?

Right? I'm the kind of gamer that rarely gets angry at a game when I lose, because I understand that anger is in no way going to help me not lose. Because of this I tend to have a better actual understanding of the controls than most players.
A lot of gamers around me get frustrated and refuse to acquiesce to not blaming the game, but instead their own error.

But with this game, sometimes it just feels like it's changing the rules on you.
I saw someone toss the WiiU game pad across the room yelling over this game, and he's "what I consider at least" a veteran gamer.

Mmmm I didn't really get that far into reviewing the game. I'd say hold off on it, let me fully experience it first. So I can give my best word.
