...xate, I can't tell if your trolling me or being serious. You're hurting my feelings. Thanks to you, I have to draw another flower.

Sigh...Apologies, my good friend. But that's proof just how similar trolling and helpful criticism is. And Sorry, again. We can skype so you can rant to me if you'd like. I can listen.

"Heh, what an idiot! You're suppose to make it smooth!" -troll
"No! It's too stiff! You didn't make it smooth!" -Critique
But still, we can still see like that critique and trolling can be almost the same. It's so hard to give an example.

Wow. I get your point, buddy. Now I'm discouraged to make an RHG... I wouldn't be able to take that. Way too emotional. My room is full of pictures of flowers.

Tip: learn from videos, then just animate. The moment you're proud of it is the moment you post it here. That way, if you receive honest criticism, it's something you didn't think of.

Also, tip for the sensitive by the tough-skinned: other than your flower technique, ask yourself: is he helping me, or is he hurting me? Then decide to read or not. You can also let time pass for a week so your feelings don't cloud your judgement or make you biased.

Keep calm and carry on.
I just knew this was actually a motivation poster before WW2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keep_Calm_and_Carry_On Holy shit. But almost no one noticed this until 2000. XD lol

Reminds me when I used to be really decisive on posting my RHG as well, it takes one night to simply click the 'Post New Thread' button. I can say that I'm not really talented on making animations (because lack of free time, and procrastination yeahisaidit). But on the same time, I watched plenty much stick figure animations only to be praised every week and some tutorials from veterans like Hyun's basic stick figure tuts, Corn's blood test, and Mango's motion tween so far.

Then again it depends on you. I had made my RHG character since last February, still made myself unavailable because currently still trying to make an extended demonstration (got so many concepts in my head, damn need to pick one x_x).

CnC-wise, make them as your evaluation from the last animation's flaws (if there's one) to make your next try better than the last, it's pretty effective if you implement them. Personally need to calm myself in some minutes to recover after getting them, then reread it more carefully to get the idea.

Calling someone an idiot isn't trolling, it's just being an asshole.

Trolling is posting something just to get a reaction out of people and doing it in a way that isn't immediately obvious. Like making an off-handed remark that's insulting to the animator you're pretending to give criticism to. Beyond that I don't know why you guys are comparing them, they're not inherently similar or related in any way.

Back in '08 when everyone in school played with pivot by making horses engage in sexual intercourse, I made fighting animations. People were impressed with my technique, with my ideas of shading them gray to white to simulate them teleporting, and making my own weapons from scratch. But now, with all these talented animators out there, Its nothing special. I've graduated from pivot to easytoon, perhaps even flash if I get the money. But I can't come up with a simple concept for my RHG. I'm torn between Guy with scythe that has guns eqipped on it, Guy with ice powers, and Guy who can cause explosions at will. I know, I know. Those are not even close to original. But I like 'em. Suits my needs. Someone critizise my choices, please.

You like it. So just do it, note that ice and fire will require more special effects. I'd recommend the scythe first to get the hang of things before learning about special effects. That's my opinion.

I wouldn't get into animation if your only goal is making animations of two stick figures fighting each other, it's the most generic and boring concept I can think of and people have been doing it for the last 14 years, there's nothing you're going to do with it that hasn't been done to death already.

Exactly, I thought that was what I wanted to do until I tried fullbody animation.

Oh, I certainly plan on going full-out in the animation industry. Obviously not jaltoid level, not for a long time. But I'm working on it.

ooooh, they are one of my favorite animators!

I probably won't be moving onto fullbody anims for a long while. I got a lot of things I want to do in terms of stick figure anims that aren't fights. Like Exilement said, it's boring. I hate following the crowd and I want to make my own original ideas. Whether the result is good or bad, I'm not afraid to give it a shot :)

that's kind of a weird thing to say 6 days after uploading this. do you have a single completed animation of something other than stick figure fighting that you could show the class? I checked and couldn't find any
