I'm sure you've seen Rejected, that's far from realistic and emotional. his "welcome to the animation show" shorts have some stereotypically "happy" sections but it also has killer robots, so yeah.

pretty much everything by him is gold. I bought both DVDs from his store with all of his animated shorts and the full version of It's Such a Beautiful Day, it came with a piece of film reel from that movie along with a couple of strange goodies, pretty damn good deal for $20.

also non-american? haha he's american, his name is Don Hertzfeldt, I wouldn't be surprised if his facebook name was swedish or something though, he loves weird shit like that. I should type out the fine-print warnings on the bottom of the DVD case, they're hilarious

I just checked out his website between Dylan Ryder meat-slap sessions, and yeah, his facebook does say he's American, but his name and thoughtful insight made me think otherwise.
