Correction: The original post did not mention that the large screens in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square broadcast panoramic scenes on a daily basis, regardless of atmospheric conditions, nor did it state that the sunrise was part of a tourism commercial.

Air pollution isn't anywhere near bad enough in China to fill the air with smog. Yet. I think the whole thing was started by one of those click-bait websites that spin stories together or some news bullshit. Not to say that the pollution that they do ​have isn't a serious problem

Yeah, China's a silly place. There's no use denying things that the entire world saw, it just makes them look worse. The pollution thing though was debunked by a bunch of different people who were just travelling there. That sunset was just a 2 second scene on some travelling commercial and "journalists" jumped on it like a bunch of hungry hyenas with no regard for the truth.
