Really? I honestly thought that the culinary industry is pretty chill towards tattoos as long as you don't have KILL KIDS on your knuckles

What rubbish, you could easily get away with that saying you're a lamb butcher.
Quote from Azure KiteI'm a huge fan of tattoos, but being in the culinary industry, they're risky to get since certain establishments don't approve of visible tattoos.
I can just never get tattoos. The idea of getting something permanent on my body makes me apprehensive. My psycho ex from 5 years ago was covered in tattoos, pretty good ones, and its actually a pretty big deal in the conservative environment that she grew up in. I would post some pictures if I had kept any of her SFW-but-with-visible-tattoo ones.

We're also not Filipino, which make us even more of a fringe group.

I do know. I've seen the weekly email blasts that Uncle Eddy puts out.

Quote from NishTrue. At the very least, your uncles would have left you alone.
First thing you do is get your doctors to find out what your allergic to. That could actually save your life. You won't always have access to a doctor, and you need to know what to avoid.
Second thing is to never say 'elergic' again.
Already been to a doctor. He said its just spring allergies and its a type of pollen... Also I'm sorry for my grammar as this phones auto correct is a piece of shit and when I don't want it to auto correct it auto corrects and when I do it doesnt.
Fucking elefant is a word apparently for this phone as it didn't auto correct to elegant.
But anyway I was asking for tips on how to ease the pain in my leg not tips on what to do to save my life as the hospital already recommended me that and we're going tommorow or Sunday again.

Uhh... you specifically said that you were not aware of what you were allergic to, and now you're saying not only do you know exactly what you're allergic to, but you've actually been receiving sound medical guidance on how to handle the said allergies and their causes.

ye, i've been planning the same thing but getting a tattoo is like getting registered as a sex offender. It'll be exciting at first, but then you've got to explain what it means every time you meet somebody new.
May 15, 2015 4:35 PM #1362118
Yup. What if you want to go undercover? Or act in a movie? Or meet someone absolutely perfect who loathes tattoos? Or find out later there is a super-duper medication that heals ALL your ailments, but rejects tattoo ink violently?

Most places don't care that you have tattoos, they care if they're visible. If they have an image, they like to maintain it. It's hard to maintain you're a "High Class Eatery" and such when you've got a chef who looks like a stereotypical metal head or went to prison for twenty years.
It's a similar issue with my dreads. It gives off the apparent vibe that I'm a loose guy, and loose guys are not defined enough for more than casual dining. That's easier to work past, but tattoos are not.

A moment of silence for the death of BB King.

I would never hire a guy with tattoos or dreads unless he could give me a good explanation during the interview of how it fulfills him and is important to his life. I have no patience for people who get permanent tattoos or intentionally striking hairstyles "juz cuz its kewl lelz". I wish them the best of luck, but they won't be making money with me.
This is the first thing I heard about when I woke up. I was rather sad. Then I wanted to post a very cruel joke here since we have a member named BBKing, but I decided against it.

Well the thing is the doctor in the past said its spring allergies and its a type of pollen and he specifyed it to my father and he fucking forgot of course. Also this can't be pollen as its fucking pollen and every time I open my window or have the ac running my eyes just get itchy and nothing as this problematic. I ment BTW the doctors don't know what set off this allergic reaction as it could be something new and my allergies have never gotten this bad.
And they've given me a epi pen and medicine that helps with the itchiness but like I said I didn't ask for tips on how to save my life but to ease the pain in my leg. The original question was Tips to ease the psin in my leg from a epi pen.

The thing that hit me hardest there is the whole "went to the hospital for diabetes related illness." That hits really close to home, and it's terrifying.

I'm not getting any tattoos because I'm considering a face-hidden G4P career and don't want to get recognized from my ink

XxScatterxX. You said "I dont know what cause this allergy. So I said "please get your doctors to find out what you're allergic to because it could save your life". To which you responded "Yeah it is pollen allergy". To which I said "Then why did you say you did not know what allergy it was?". To which you have now replied "Because it is not pollen allergy and we still don't know what it is."
So my original point that "You should get your doctors to find out what caused your allergies" is still valid, and I have no clue why you countered it with a pollen allergy story which you then went on to say was actually quite mild and could NOT be the allergy that we were currently discussing.
Dude the guy was in his 80s. He died of diabetes related illness, also known as old age.
Simple solution. You could get a new tattoo for each month, and NEVER get recognized. You entire face will be a composite of unrecognizable, multi-tattoos.

Yeah but he was what, 89? He was still playing shows very recently. Not exactly a bad way to go.

Yeah, it isn't that terrifying. A man who is almost 100 going to the hospital isn't exactly a grim reminder of our own mortality.
