Knowing the film industry, they're probably going to fuck this up.

Anyway, I didn't come here to talk about that. I came here because I need the internet's help. I'm moving house tomorrow, but today the toilet paper situation is looking tenuous at best. If I go and buy more I'll have to buy a pack of nine, and there's no way I'm using that much. There's no point transporting the extra either since I'm moving to my parents' house for a couple of months before I start my masters, and damned if I'm spending money on toilet paper if they're providing it for free. Then again, if I don't buy more I'm taking a serious gamble. I considered spending the next 12-18 hours in the pub using their toilet paper, but I need to be able to drive tomorrow and history suggests I would probably get pretty drunk.

What do, internet? What do?

Is your problem the fact that all toilet paper bundles come in with a pack of nine toilet papers and you do want to buy that much? If thats the case, if you are a regularly at this store, try making a bargain and get your desired amount of toilet paper. If they won't let you, I guess hang out at your friends house for some time.

Why not just take some of the pub's toilet paper?

Well if she goes in the pub just to take the toilet paper, she still might get tempted by the drinks there still

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. I'm going with the hold-out-as-long-as-possible idea, backed up by stockpiling if things go wrong. I'm sure I'll have time to make it to the shop and back...

They aren't something which you can buy anywhere that I've seen, but it's not unheard of to make one yourself. I have in the past. If you're out of cutlery it's a reasonable way to eat your chips without getting greasy fingers.

I think it's more of a thing in the North, and I'm a Southerner. I may have more to report when I move to Scotland in September.

I'm wondering if you're getting confused with crisps, which Americans apparently call "potato chips". Or you might be thinking about the kind of chips you get in McDonalds which are much thinner than traditional British chips. Our chips are each a significant fraction of a potato. You use a fork for those.

That's why American English is the most superior
Fries are fried
Chips are sliced, they can be baked or fried
If you try to bake fries you just get backed potatoes
it goes liek this in terms of thickness
Potatoes, Steak Fries, Potato Wedges(considered chips by brits), Fries, American Potato Chips, Potato Skins, 1/0
its simple :O
