And why not? It's no coincidence that the word "Christ" is in the title...

Let's not get into this on the day itself :')

Dude, Jesus' true birthday date is not exactly know, also he may have been a toddler back to Year 0.

Also *Whatever*Mas existed even before him.

"Most mainstream scholars do not see the Luke and Matthew nativity stories as historically factual. Karl Rahner states that the authors of the gospels generally focus on theological elements rather than historical chronologies. However, both Luke and Matthew associate Jesus' birth with the time of Herod the Great.

Herod the Great is generally believed to have died around 4 BC, implying that the birth of Jesus was not after that year. Matthew 2:1 states that "Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king" and Luke 1:5 mentions the reign of Herod shortly before the birth of Jesus. The Matthew account implies that Jesus could have been as much as two years old at the time of the visit of the Magi, before Herod's death."
- Wikipedia, everyone. Read up on your Christmas :)
So I suppose you're right, in a sense, and the month is not known at all, but it is still celebrated on the 25th of December

Edit: Is that 1 million posts for this year, or since the beginning?

It's one million posts since the forums were made, but we actually hit that figure some time in mid-2011. When the forums got reset we lost a load of posts, so hitting a million is a step closer to where we were a couple of years ago. And as everyone who's spent time here knows, "the forums were better two years ago" is a fact which is always true no matter when you say it, so getting closer to that is a Good Thing.

That's usually why people don't want the name "christ" in the word. It's something about how you could be throwing it out too much or using it in the wrong way. That's why some people say Xmas. Also, you didn't need to put "christ" in all bold. There was no reason to and it's kind of an annoyance to others.

Lol doesn't matter when Jesus was born or if Christmas was around before him (Haven't seen any evidence of that so far btw) what matters is than now Christmas is a time for celebrating the fact that our saviour was born.

As for the Xmas thing, it's actually a common misconception. "Xmas" is an abbreviation of Christmas found particularly in print, based on the initial letter chi (Χ) in Greek Khrīstos (Χριστός), "Christ". It has been used as early as the 16th century, though recently people have believed that it is a secular attempt to cross out the "Christ" in "Christmas". The more you know xD. I feel ya, though. Putting your kind of logic behind it makes some sense (bold thing), so I won't do it anymore. I was misunderstanding what Cronos was saying, so thanks for clearing that up. I can see how that could be annoying. :/
