My only question is: How did that happen?

That sounds excruciating.
I'm glad, I felt that when he squandered his title away by being arrogant, that he disrespected the sport and the title. I didn't even want him to get another shot, I felt like he didn't deserve it.

This injury might just put him into retirement. From what I've read a guy who suffered the same injury (Corey Hill) took more then a year to recover. That might not be a problem when you're in your 20's or early 30s, but he's almost 40. Coupled with the fact that he was considering retirement before hand, I'd say there's a strong probability.

Arrogant yes. But he provided some entertaining fights either beating someone else up or getting beat. That would be something I'll miss.

Went to USA Today news..

Holy shit, he was a legend in MMA? Poor guy. That was a clever check tho, but ouch, a bad leg break. Hope he can recover and continue his career. If he doesn't, I won't be part of your sobbing. But sorry.

After reading through several forums on the topic 'Weidman vs Anderson' (both fights), I have come to the conclusion that, on average, MMA fans are incredibly unintelligent and illogical.

I commend you for your ability to tolerate not one, but several forums.

I believe bias sums up a good portion of mma fans.

Yeah I consider myself illogical and unintelligent isn't exactly a stretch.
