OBJECTION!

Too cruel concerning young and new people here. As I said before, spamming (imho) just shouldn`t interrupt conversations. Also, we can make a new thread for conversations only. Let the chat thread be .3.

As the Champion of the Meek, I hereby say nay to the proposition.
Quote from GuardianTempestGenerally I'm against having to leave people out from the Chat Thread Experience™, it's a necessary thing. We'll have to grit our teeth and bear with it until they adapt or they get completely public disapproval. (like harvie....?)

Despite that I should be lurking, I say NAY to the petition

Could a conversation thread/section be made in which users had to opt into (like the debate section), and which users could be kicked out of?
Also, I have no idea how those 'group' things work, but couldn't you have a conversation group? Though I have no idea who would mod it.

Such a system would be complicated, though it would be reserved for those who passed their 1 year.Quote from YouwishjellyfishCould a conversation thread/section be made in which users had to opt into (like the debate section), and which users could be kicked out of?

Either way, it would be a bit of a hassle, and what's to stop newbies from opting in and opting in after getting kicked out?

In all seriousness, I wouldn't say banned on sight but people get infracted for spammy posts on other threads so getting an infraction doesn't seem too unreasonable.
In response to Youwishjellyfish, that should be possible but I am not sure how likely it is.

Why not just to make a conversation thread with more strict rules and something like (NO SPAMMING!) in title? Moderators may mod it. I mean, they actually won`t need to check all the messages, because users can report posts, and therefore the quality of the thread will depend on members of this site.
Maybe it will be hard to mod it anyway. But I think we can give it a try. Threads can be deleted anyway, so it will do no harm, I suppose. If there is a way to make a mod for one thread, I can help by deleting spam-filled messages. (But IDK if that`s even possible, lol)

It couldn't be any more complicated than what the debate section is doing. And I'm fairly certain that once you get kicked out of the permission group you are locked out and can't get back in.
I don't see why it would be VIP either, there are a lot of new users that aren't brain dead.

That's how this thread is meant to be run. Apparently it isn't working?

I say yes to this petition. But only a 1-day ban to make them learn something.
