Quote from CharryWe would never know if you died. I bet a lot of old members are dead, and nobody knows. And in some cases nor do they care. And it's even more likely nobody would sit back and think where'd that one member go to all that time ago because you'll have been forgotten like thousands if people on this site.
I for one have given thought to what happened to the members that used to be here and just left. Obviously I don't remember "that one member" unless I interacted with them at some point.
I wouldn't really bet that a lot of the people who left are dead though. Most members here were of young age, and chances are most of them are still around irl. If anyone actually passed away they would be a relatively small number.
Edit: Storm please post something of actual value.

I bet that 3% of all victims of all accidents(including Mh370, Korean boat sink, etc) around the world every year are unknown SP members.

We can calculate the crude number of people who died here easily.
Sp has exactly 116,813 members at the moment.
World wide the mortality rate is around 8.37 per 1,000 (Wikipedia). With some simple Math we can assume that around 978 members died so far. But since this community consists of people around the ages of 12-20, and we don't have the location in the world for everyone here, the numbers will be quite different, most possibly lower than this.

one person mocking you isn't an argument

1) A bit late.
2) "Somebody I know is gay" doesn't work, plus it's irrelevant. Mentioning your gay friend contributes to nothing because they're a different person, plus the fact your friend does it doesn't mean you're going to always support it.

If you're talking about the vast amount of tryhards on the community, then no I doubt we'd learn about it nor care about where they went.
But I doubt if we found out that a member died, we'd just blow it off like no fucks given. Lixu wasn't the most popular member, but when we all found out (with proof might I add since this is the internet and we've had like 3 fake deaths since I've come back here) that he had passed, I feel the community took it a bit hard. I think I remember a few days of slow activity afterwards. I know I at least had to take a step away from Stickpage for a few days.

How did you guys find out? Was it through his family?

If I remember correctly Bluntanims was in contact with him through MSN or something and was told by his father from there.
I remember when it happened, Stone started some huge project in his name but it was unsuccessful, I never knew Lixu though, but it's always weird when someone dies in a relatively small community.
Quote from SaltYeah.
Oh god. I wasn't even around when Lixu passed away. You know sometimes I think, what if I die in real life, will the people I've known and grown attached to on the internet ever know? Or will I just "disappear" from the forums, with people hoping I would return someday.
I'm pretty sure you mean "when I die".

Quote from ExilementScarecrow summed it up best, this place is like a ball and chain that I'm free to take off whenever I'd like, but I've had it with me for years and I'd feel weird without it at this point.
or something like that
Yeah at this point my skins grown over the iron clasp and the ball and chain is practically fused with me.
I could probably get it surgically removed, but it would just feel weird without it.
Sometimes that ball and chain is the only company I have.

No, I'm immortal.

I feel like I could leave this place forever with no qualms about it, if I wanted to. But I still genuinely enjoy this place and the dudebros that hang around, so there's no reason to.

I remember when luccasbode died. I've never really known the guy. I think the most interaction we had was when he replied to a post of mine back at FA. I never even really liked his animation style, but it felt weird to lose an influential member. It was like when this relative I've only met once 5 years prior died. Wasn't that sad, but another human being still died.

How did they knew luccasbode died? How and where did they got the information?
