I see people talk about IRC a lot but the few times I've been there it's been super dead.

I never liked the IRC

Don't really know what it is about the IRC, can't quite figure it out.

IRC to some people is usually something to open then minimize immediately. A lot of people only talk when their names are mentioned.

I only talk when people are already talking (and usually I start off with a "shut up faggot" so that tells a lot about how much of a faggot I really am). Or when I see someone chat-worthy and highlight that guy. I've come to realize that conversations aren't going to make themselves.

I never really liked IRC, it's to fast paced when stuff actually happens. The slower moving nature of a forum suits me better. They're easier to ignore and catch up on, it also gives you the freedom to spend 40 minutes typing a post or the ability to read up on a topic before you speak up.

Being fast-paced makes it great for making friends or just talking to those friends imo. It can make you more involved in the community. #Stickpage has everyone on it, so it's not really an ideal place to talk to someone if you don't like being interrupted or having someone butt in for some reason. Especially if you plan on having a serious conversation.

I like IRC for the smaller channels. #stickpage is great for trolling/flaming/trash talking/etc, but the real conversations happen on the smaller hangout channels where everyone knows everyone.

But yeah not that ideal for well thought-out conversations.

Making friends? But people are the worst. You make no sense to me.
