The BBC often pulls stuff out of their ass like this, don't they? At least its better than the ABC that said "Robin Williams and his family request their privacy at this difficult moment" and promptly proceeded to stream a live broadcast of his house from cameras above.

One thing I can't stand is when the BBC (ad well as companies like ITV) showcase all their news headlines, and it's basically "hey guys, check out what this royal baby is up to today! Oh and here's a recent and very serious/tragic incident, just in case you were interested."

I thought it was fantastic even though not a lot of people seem to have gotten behind it. They expanded the whole mythos of the Masters of the Universe in it and the animation was quite enjoyable too. The whole episode with King Greyskull in it gave me goosebumps, solely because of the history behind it.

I have a soft spot for BBC compared to most news networks because they've made some really good documentaries. I still watch some of them occasionally since I first saw them back in 2005.

I agree they've made some absolutely amazing documentaries. Also the Planet Earth series is arguably one of Television's greatest accomplishments. However, and I pose this questions to our British friends who might be in the know here, the BBC is a rather large umbrella corporation, so is the department in-charge of the news also in charge of the documentaries? Or are they two seperate facets of the BBC?

I loved it, but most people I know who watched because it wasn't as campy or didn't have that funny, amusing charm. "You suck because you didn't try to unintentionally do something else", how do you even do this?

It's a large Corporation. There is a different department that handles the day to day activities like news and another that handles special occasions like documentaries. I like the documentaries narrated by David Attenborough.

The most annoying part is that thwse people don't realise the original He-Man series wasn't trying to be campy or funny. They were trying to make a badass show but did it with so few resources and such a lack of artistry that it BECAME Funny. The new show deserved a lot more respect for what it set out to achieve, and even taken purely as an entity on it's own, it had good storytelling, unique characters and a very interesting mythology, which is the fundamental charm of He-Man in the first place.

I would assume that different people were involved.

BBC news is generally very good in terms of impartiality and accuracy. They just come across as a bit patronising sometimes, especially if the story involves the internet in any way.

BBC's Walking with Dinosaurs was my childhood. It was an amazing documentary and still holds up today.
