Maybe this could be counted as a clarification or something, but I'm not sure so you judge.

When I said that we don't have it here, I was talking about how those kind of penis inspection day doesn't really exist in schools generally like health inspection day and such. But, we do have another which is called circumcision. Here, every men has a choice to do this on usually during their puberty age. Even the WHO (World Health Organization) recommends them to consider on doing it to prevent HIV infection that might endanger genitals or immune system further, especially for those countries that have high rates of HIV.

It's stated that only one-third of men worldwide has been circumcised though, so yeah...probably it sounds very rare to you guys.

How the fuck did this go unnoticed by so many people?

Woah this place is different. The community now seems a bit more lighthearted than what it was in the past, which isn't a bad thing.

Every couple of months I usually lurk on here, but I haven't really posted anything on here since 2012. Reading some of my old posts from 08-09 is hilarious. I was probably one of the most annoying members on here lol.

Azure, following your debate thread, what do you think about this?

I didn't feel like posting in the thread cos it's not really related to the questions you've raised.

Just finished the video, and here is my general response:

These people are fucking insane.

Now, to go into a more detailed explanation:

Saying food isn't necessary is complete and utter bullshit. To begin, the ingredient in Soylent do not begin to fully cover the spectrum of nutritional requirements held by the body, and living off of it for 30 days isn't a sign to show it is healthy or unhealthy. It's a good basic study, but as mentioned in the video, the guy lost 10 lbs in 30 days. That alone is a flag for me. Sure, one could argue that it's "water weight," but take into consideration this is a liquid diet. And I refuse to believe it was purely fat burned off because the body doesn't begin breaking down fat immediately. It breaks down carbohydrates, then more likely than not, protein in the muscles before going to fat.

Going on further, aside from the basic nutrients we obtain in food, there are also phytochemicals which are found primarily in bright colored plants and which have subtle but significant impacts on health (they're currently being researched to determine just how much they affect our health, but one of the effects they're best known for is cancer and heart disease prevention). Phytochemicals cannot be duplicated/replicated through scientific means at the moment, and I don't foresee such a thing in the near future either. Another thing to worry about is that all the "nutrition" is coming from chemicals, which they blatantly state in the video, and it is a known fact that things such as chemicals and supplements cannot fully replace nutrients found in natural products.

The biggest thing bothering me though, is the guy's mindset. He made this product because he doesn't see a point in eating. He even said that as a kid, he thought of leaves as animal food. Naming a product after something in a dystopian movie made out of people is also a troubling sign. I don't see this as the solution of the future. If anything, if this kind of thing becomes mainstream, we may industrialize further and completely destroy all natural resources on the planet.
