Hey, it's better than having a winter without cold or rain (like we have here)

You don't say. Here in Wesconsin (As we call it), weather's been worse than bad. It was nice and warm and sunny up until mid-december, when the shit hit the fan. We finally got some snow (About 1 1/2 feet). It stayed between around 25F and 10F for a week. After that, the temperature rose again, it started raining, and about 1/3 of the snow melted, covering everything with sludge. This was immediately followed by a day of light snow, and the day after, sub-zero temperatures (It's like -15 right now).

I usually bike to school, but it was so cold I thought it better to get a ride. Unfortunately for me, though, the rear doors were frozen shut, so I had to sit with my backpack on my lap the entire ride. ~40 people were late this morning.

yeah I live fairly close to the Wisconsin border in Illinois, we got hit by the same weather, not nearly as much snow though. only about 2-3 inches. I can handle winter just fine in the 30's and 20's but it was -5 this morning, fuck this shit.

This is a perfect example of why in Wesconsin & Neighbors, it's far too cold to be sober.

(It sucks even worse being next to Lake Superior)

Edit: It's odd, when I start thinking of the climate, I start to think of how huge, unstoppable, and fragile out planet is. I mean, the entire reason that we have winter is because THE SUN STOPPED STAYING AROUND AS LONG AS IT USED TO. Just a little less sunlight every day cools down our part of the planet so immensely, it's surprising that the right conditions were ever met on this planet to support life.

(Sorry for the double post but I thought it was appropriate due to the subject change)

I know, right?
And we are fcking those conditions up
Lot of people just can't see how fortunate we are for having a planet where life can grow :/

It's pretty cool indeed. I wouldn't say that it's fragile though, because it's been doing that for a solid few billion years :p It's hella cool, but it's also just how things work(tm).

Life is incredibly resilient. When the planet itself was forming and getting its entire surface blasted into a planet-wide ocean of molten rock, life still survived on the pieces that got thrown into space to return hundreds of years later. No matter how bad things get, the only thing we can do by messing up the planet is to destroy living conditions for ourselves and many other animals... but life itself will go on until the sun expands into a red giant.

Been pretty good! Get my first degree in February, and I'm buying a car (hopefully) this Monday, have a job for the Masters Tournament held at the Augusta Country Club, and I'm hopefully earning another job for my school that'll net me some scholarships.

2012 Suzuki SX4 LE in white. Used, going for $8,850, under 20K miles on it, no accidents, one previous owner. No damage, no accidents, and I'm hoping to get a few discounts on it from it being my first car (First Time Buyer's Package) and my status as a Student and Military Dependent. If I can get around 2K off the price, which isn't too insane (but still a bit much), then I can get it totally on credit as well.
